On my way home...things I learned/experienced.

We are on our way home from what was our best trip. Fourth time to Disney, first time driving from St. Louis, MO area. We left or house Friday the 23rd, arriving at WDW on Saturday the 24th. We stayed 4 nights at POFQ and 3 nights BLT TPV (rented points).

First, we mostly loved FP+. I was lucky and got A&E and SDMT FPs before or trip. If I hadn't, I would have been sad about being locked out of same day FP.

Things I loved about this trip, in no particular order:

-DD (on her BBB day in her Belle dress) had 2 special things happen. First, we accidentally caught the Sword in the Stone show and DD was the one chosen to pull out the sword! Second, at ETWB DD was chosen to play Beast and my almost 3 year old son was Chip. She was very excited and I loved watching both my kids participate. The whole room was 'awwing' my son when he was up there. When Belle gave him his bookmark he said 'that's you!' And she said he was very observant. Lol

-We had FP for BOG lunch and it was awesome! Highly recommend lunch there.

-Thanks to FP we were in and out of the A&E meet and greet in 13 minutes when the standby wait time was 180 minutes! DD wore her princess gloves and Elsa told her she should 'let it go'and DD could borrow Elsa's mountain. DS said the 'I like warm hugs' line and made them laugh.

-It was our first Star Wars weekend and we loved it. The fireworks were amazing! We saw them on our first night, then we rearranged or schedule so we could see them again Friday night. We did the dinner at Hollywood and Vine (our first time there) with Mickey and friends in Star Wars outfits. Very good and they were very cute.

-We stayed at BLT in a theme park view room for the first time. It was amazing. We watched wishes from our room one night. It was so nice walking to MK, my DH wants me to look into what we would have to spend to buy a DVC.

-We bought DD a photo/picture album before or trip. We saw do many characters we had to buy a second one! We did 7 character meals: CRT, Akershus, CP, TH, CM and H&V star wars.

-The first time we tried to watch FoF parade it was canceled 5 minutes after it wassupposed to start due to weather. We did end up seeing it a different day by switching stuff around. It was excellent!

Sounds like you had a great trip. We are heading down in 11 days and will be there for the last Star Wars Weekend. I'm not really a SW fan (my DH, DD, & DS are), but I'm definitely looking forward to the fireworks. Glad to hear you enjoyed them.

We love staying at BLT too! I think walking to the MK is a huge convenience.

Oh, another thing, the 'learned' art of my title...the character handler for Tink told me they would be adding additional fairies and we're building the areas. Anyone know anything about that?

How long did it take you to walk from BLT to MK? We rented points for 4 nights in January and are excited.

The walk was pretty quick, no more than 15 minutes. Way better than dealing with busses!

THey still do that?!? I would have sworn that they stopped doing that show years ago and that they don't ever remove the sword anymore. Do you by chance remember the time of day you came across this?

I went back and checked the time stamp on the picture, it was about 11:30 in the morning. We had CRT ADR before it and our time there was 10. I was super surprised because I thought they had stopped that show also.

My DD is going to be spoiled because last year we went for my and DH 10 year anniversary in March and when we tried the sword there was a photo pass photographer there and my DH, DD and DS were ak up there and she pulled the sword out then! 2 trips in a row she did it!

Funny you say that! While we were there, DH got a Facebook group message from my FIL. My FIL and his wife want to take their combined 6 children, all 6 spouses and 14 grandchildren on a Disney cruise next June! They say they will pay for everything, we just have to pay for our own transportation to the port! Hopefully we'll be able to add on some days at WDW either before or after we meet up with his family!

Cool. Apparently, they took the other fairies out of the park and some have been protesting it.

I'm just now starting to plan our late Sept trip

How hard was it to get A&E FP+? My DH is willing to stand in a 5 hour line for DD, but I just think that's crazy. Am I already too late? We did FP+ during testing phase last year but I haven't studied up on it since. TIA!
