On line check in for early arrival

We arrive next week to BWV at about 10am. are there any pros/cons to using the online check in or not for an early arrival?

I did online check in in April and when we arrived at 10:30 our room was ready. I don't know if online made a difference or not but I was nice to be able to unpack and then head out to the park.

We have so far used online check in for all of our DVC trips and like to be able to simply go up, get the KTTW cards, and go.

Because we don't want or need to add a CC to them, it works out. And, we have been pretty lucky that our room has been ready most of the times when we arrived. The only time they were not was when I checked in at 8:00 am--but, even then, we got the call between 1:00 and 2:00 pm.

Have now used on-line check-in six times. Checked in about 2 p.m. each time. Room was ready three times and not until four the other three, about the same percentage of success for getting room early as I had without on-line check-in. It speeds up check-in process itself a little, and I emphasize "little."

If you used points then the on line check is not working. They said there was a problem with a DVC reservation talking to the computer sysytem that handles normal Disney reservations. They have been working on it for awhile and have no idea when it will be fixed.

We used online Check in and arrived at AKL Sunday morning around 9 am. Our room was ready. I've used online checkin the last three trips and each time the room was ready when I got in. The only issue I have had is I have to have the CM reprint DS room key since I dont want him to have charging priviledges.

Also, the new system always multiple credit cards. I was able to use one card for my family and another for my inlaws in the same room.

I think it depends on what day you arrive and time of year. I used online check-in this last trip. Arrived early Saturday morning. Did not get into a room until 4pm.

I tried for 4 days before our trip to check in online and ran into errors with the system. When we arrived at AKV last week, I let the front desk clerk know that there was a problem with the system. She told me that there really wasn't an advantage to online check in other than your room key cards would be printed in advance.

When I've used online checkin I almost always get my room early, either when I check in, or before noon......However, whenever I've done online check in, esp. at BWV, I NEVER get any of my request.

So in May, the online checkin was not working, so I couldn't do it for my BWV stay and surprise, I got all of my request!

I guess it's all in what's the most important, the hopes of getting a room early, or getting any of your request.

I no longer use online checkin now. It's nice getting your room early, but I would rather have my request fulfilled, or at least the possibility of having them fulfilled.

This is just my observation, however, so not official study on the results. I have used the online checkin at least 6-8 times prior to my May trip.
