we received a message from natwest about our online banking which dh replied to...
yesterday we had £9, 500 stolen out of our account, the email was a "tracking" device.
The money has no been put back after 4 v stressful hours and it is being investigated by on line fraud. Please do not reply to any emails which are from banks

Sorry to hear that its a worthwhile reminder...i always delete any emails, i figure if its urgent they will phone !

Sorry to hear that glad you sorted it

I bank online with barclays who state that they will never email their customers. If I get any email from any bank I always forward it to their fraud prevention email figuring if it was genuine then they would let me know so I could deal with the problem.

we get a lot of these phising type emails - I ignore them all. so glad you got it sorted quickly

I get them on my work email all the time, from 'Halifax' 'Bank of Scotland' and 'Natwest' I don't bank with any of them.

so sorry to hear this happened to you, glad the banks got it all sorted for oyu. I get these phising emails all the time, best thing to do is report them to both your email provider and the bank.

I hope you get it all sorted soon, we had our bank card cloned recently and it was a nightmare took almost a month to get new cards, we are now in the process of changing banks because they were not helpful at all!!!

I get quite a few of these type emails and also the foreign ones saying urgent usually from some one in uganda -they all get spammed straight away and then they dont appear again as they are blocked but i still get new ones coming through every now and then.

I got three similar emails on the same day, and I was suspicious as I only banked with one of the banks. I clicked on the link and it was a very good replica of my bank's log-in page, but with very slight differences if you compared the two. Also if you tried to click on any of the small print at the bottom of the page, site map, security etc nothing happened. when I put the cursor over the link it gave a IP address in Poland! I forwarded it to my bank and 'touch wood' haven't had any more
