Evening all

On the eastern cruise this week and thus far it's been great. Looking at Friday's forcast it seems like it may rain but keeping fingers crossed. Even if it does we've had 2 perfect days on the islands, mid 80's each day with perfect water temps, I think we stayed in the water for about 4 hours straight each day.

If anyone has any questions I'll be checking the boards the next couple of evenings, will be happy to answer.

Pros thus far
Weather
Kids clubs, DS(5) &DD (3) love them, wife and I have been able to get some time to do things with them there
Palo - Don't ask for Marco, if you mention anything you like he'll bring it, we got 4 desserts just because wife mention chocloate

Cons
8:30 seating - somehow kids can stay in club till 9:45 with no problem, put that at the table to eat at 8:30 and they are half asleep
Not enough time to do everything
It has to end in 2 days
Didn't win a free cruise at who wants to be a mouseketter
Picture prices
All those other little costs you don't think about, taxi, food on islands, beach chairs, etc

Glad you're having a great trip. We had Marco 2 years in a row and he was awesome. The first year he wrapped 2 souffle's in a tin foil goose to take back to the room for the kids. It was about 1.5 ft. tall and everybody was staring at us like we were special. He sure made us feel that way.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

lazarru,

On another thread, there is a question about the TVs that perhaps you might be able to answer since you're on board.

Is it possible to unscrew the cable from the TV in your cabin so that you can put replace it with another cable?

WalMart has these cool converters for about $20. You plug the cable that normally goes into the TV into this box instead. Then you plug a cable coming from the box back into the TV. The device has a single set of RCA jacks where you can plug in video games, DVD players, etc. When there is no signal on the RCA input, the cable signal is just feed on through. But when there is a signal on the RCA input, that signal is sent to the TV on Channel 3 or 4.

We were hoping to use our portable DVD player so that we could bring allong some of our DS's movies that he likes to watch. But there is a question as to weither the cable is "locked" into the back of the TV or not.

Iazzuru,

We are going on the 7-day Eastern next year. :Pinkbounc

Just wondering what excursions you have done or if you have mostly ventured out on your own. :confused3 Basically wondering what you have done at each port. (Just want to get an idea).

Thanks! :cool1:

You are so right about Marco!!! We were lucky enough to have him as our assistant server on the 12/4/04 cruise because he had just returned that week from an extended vacation. He had to wait for an opening in the Palo team to return there. He was FANTASTIC with the kids & of course the best assistant anyone could ever have. :) If you go back to Palo this week, please tell him the Graves family says hello!

Sounds like you're having a great time!!

What beaches did you go to on the islands? We're maybe doing the eastern next year.

Hopefully you will get good weather for Castaway. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks, maminnie

I took a look at the TV, the only jack is a standard Cable type jack in the back. Not sure if you'd be able to use that or not. Also the TVs don't pull out very far so you'd have to work in tight quarters.

At St Mar we did the "sub" tour which is basically a glass bottom boat. First it dropped us at a shopping area but instead of shopping we climbed up to the fort on the island. That was pretty cool as you could see the entire harbor and quite a bit of the island. The boat was ok, not great. Son was very disappointed we didn't see the stingrays, tried to tell him them were on vacatiion. After that we just hit the beach at the harbor which wasn't too bad.

In St Thomas we just went to Cooci beach instead of any Disney tour. Great plan by us, the beach is great. For $10 you can get snorckel and fins and live in teh water. Fish come right up to you and feed. Kids had a great time and wife and I took turns in the water. it's a bit of ride to get there, but not too bad.

As far as the trip, seas picked up somewater today and got overcast with some rain. Son I think got a touch of motion sickness, hopefully it passed tomorrow morning so he can at least do some club activities.

Lazarru,

Did you rent the snorkel and fins right at Coki Beach? We're going on the April 30 Eastern and are thinking of doing what you did. Why pay Disney 50 dollars each to snorkel when we can do it ourselves for $10 and the cost of a taxi?

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!!

Glad to hear you are having such a great time on the Cruise!!! We are hoping to take the Eastern May 2007!!! Long time to wait! Haha.

One more question regarding the TV's. Are they ANY connections in the FRONT of the TV, with Yellow and White openings. I'm not using the correct terms I know...but I was hoping to hook up my Digital Camera, and the cord I have hooks up to the two "connections" that are white and yellow!! Have a good time on the rest of your cruise!!!!!!

Well back from the cruise, will post a complete review in the next week, CC was a bit cooler than the rest of the trip and my son came down with something so we didn't do all that much. I got to do some snorkeling, although it was very much colder than the other islands were.

goofygal1975 - There is not red/yellow/white connections anywhere. Just the one for cable and a headphone on the front.

Thank you for checking!! I'm sorry to hear your son got sick. I am looking forward to reading your trip report when you get it done!! :earsboy:
