On Dream, the concierge room differences?

Hi, besides the extra services you receive with concierge, the staterooms-there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between them and the non-concierge family staterooms with veranda? I do see the pull down double bed, which is nice, are there other differences I'm not seeing?
Thanks! I love the fact you can get on the ship early, not sure if everything else besides their lounge and pool area we would use enough to warrant the price-thanks!

Rooms below the 1-BR suite are exactly the same size as regular 4A stateroom. The finish on the furniture is different and they have a double pull-out couch, which is less comfortable than the regular flip bed or the Murphy bed. The Concierge service is the only real difference.

We sailed many times in a 1 BR, mainly for the space, but could never justify the extra cost of staying in a Concierge Family Stateroom. We don't use the Concierge services enough to pay the premium.

We found the food-out couch a negative over the typical flip-forward single sleeper sofa.

I’ve done 3 different Concierge cabins and can’t imagine I would pick one again. The space in a one-bedroom HA on the Magic was nice - but again, sofa was a negative.

I typically won’t pay for extras in travel, so don’t find the cost worth it for me. First-class airfare to Hawaii is my special treat.

And realize I pay to cruise with Disney - I am not truly a budget traveler. I pick and chose what I am willing to pay for. And would rather go on an additional vacation for the difference between Concierge and not. (And I don’t think a Verandah is “necessary” for a fun cruise. Everyone has different wants and needs.)

If sailing in Concierge fits your budget and it’s something you want to try, I’d give it a go. My meaningful Dream Concierge memory is eating deconstructed Caesar salads in the Lounge. I also had the worst cruise bedding as the non-bedroom guest in a one-bedroom Magic cabin (not the HA cabin trip).

My suggestion - if you are wavering, just wait until an opportunity presents itself.

Can you share what you are hoping for in a Concierge cabin experience?

Have fun!

We enjoy sailing Concierge, but it's really only worth it if you use the amenities. A huge bonus is the happy hours on board. If you're going to drink on board, this can save you a fair amount of money over a cruise, especially if there are a few adults who are planning to drink. We also use the coffee machine in the Lounge all the time. Once, I met the Captain in there who had come down to make his coffee in the Lounge and over the years I've had many chances to chat with some officers who also use the coffee machine. It's also helpful if you want to book anything, spa treatments, character meet and greets, Palo.

Thanks everyone! I think we're going to pass-I don't think for what we would want it for it's worth the extra cost.
Thank you all for your help with this! My DH and I drink, not our adult son, but we don't drink that much, lol! Since it's our first cruise, we're not going to do any excursions, just enjoy being on the ship-shopping on the ship, and enjoying the adult areas, thanks again!

Can I say yeah?! Just experiencing the basics of a ship for the first time - especially a short cruise, should be satisfying. If you enjoy yourselves, you can try Concierge when/ if you want that extra pampering.

Hope you enjoy yourself as much as I have. And make a deposit for a future cruise while onboard - it will save you 10% on your next cruise.

shopping on the ship
I just wanted to point out that shops onboard the ship are only open when the ship is out in international waters, not while docked in a port. So depending on your itinerary/length of cruise, the available "shopping" time may be limited.

Same - we don't book concierge but do spend the extra $$ for 1st class on the 9hr flight to Aulani in Hawaii.
