We are going for 9 nights at end of August (first trip) and staying at CBR - we have the free dining plan ( 1 snack, 1 CS and 1 TS).

We are flying from California and it is me, dh, twin daughters (7 yrs old).

I would love to use snack credits for snacks ( i have skimmed thru the wonderful snack thread - yummy) so I was wondering what to do for breakfast??

What do you all do??? You pay OOP and have breakfast at the resort? Do you take some with you?? Do you order from grocery store??

We are not big breakfast ppl but want to have atleast something to hold us over till late morning. Any ideas???

Do they have coffee makers in the room?

We eat breakfast at the resort but also at the parks. When you go to MK, I would recommend eating breakfast at Main Street Bakery. For 1 CS credit, you can get a breakfast sandwhich (ham and cheese croissant ) plus a drink and a pastry (I ADORE the enormous cinnamon rolls and the apple turnovers). We love eating breakfast here and we feel that it is an amzing value for 1 CS. In fact, you could probably have your two children split that 1 CS breakfast.

Another good breakfast spot in DHS is Starring Rolls Cafe; they have excellent pastries!

We also like to do one table service breakfast and typically do a character meal buffet. At the Beach Club, Cape May Cafe was great!

I'd look at ordering some things from garden grocer. Order waters, breakfast items, snacks, etc. for your room. According to allears.net the rooms at CBR have coffee makers and a refrigerator (it says if there isn't one, ask).

We buy a 1/2 gallon of milk at teh resort store and keep it in our fridge. I pack granola bars and some other snacks in our suitcases and then we also buy bananas at the food court to have in our room the night before. Our kids LOVE the little boxes of cereal (we call them vacation cereal) and we also have those. We get the kids up and dressed quickly, and while we finish getting ready they eat 1/2 a banana and each get a box of vacation cereal or granola bars. This is enough to hold us over until we get into the pars and then we generally have a snack or something.

WDW is our place of "yes" so we allow them to get ice cream before lunch, etc. so breakfast is generally just a quick bite to get us moving.

We bring a couple boxes of cereal in our luggage - add to that a cinnamon roll from Main St bakery at MK that we grab on our way OUT of the park the day before. We also do things like eat a CS breakfast at our resort (I just think the breakfast options for CS meals are often really good so I like to use some of them on this meal) - then have snacks for lunch (ice cream or popcorn and pretzels) and an early dinner ADR. We will also usually schedule at least one late breakfast buffet (like chef mickey) for 10 or 11 am - we'll just have a banana or other in the morning before that meal.

Oh yeah - and you have 2 adults and 2 kids like us....We very rarely buy 4 C/S meals at a time. We usually split 3 (and sometimes 2 - like the CS pizza deal at the resorts) - and add in an extra side item or dessert with a snack credit. Doing this allows you to have some 'extra' CS credits to use on breakfasts if you would enjoy that.

being on the dp, you shouldn't have to pay oop for anything. you will find out it is plenty of food! we don't like to spend time on sitting down eating breakfast, so we usually have breakfast bars in our backpacks. or just grap a muffin/pastry from resort or park. you will be surprised how much food it is and don't leave without getting all of your credits. we always have snacks leftover so we usually go to the confectionary @ mk to get fudge, cookies, or the food court cause they have these yummy packaged cookies.
have fun and eat up!!

DH & I had free DDP in 2010.We paid OOP at the FC for 3 of our 5 breakfasts. If you don't have a car to go to the store you might want to look into one of the grocery services to get cereal & the like delivered to your hotel. POFQ had a small fridge & so I'm guessing CBR will too.
If you buy at Resort mug you can use that for coffee, tea(hot & iced) and sodas.

Just pack some bagels & cream cheese, donuts, or other easy to eat breakfast foods and have them in the morning while you are getting ready.

we have only done ddp once before (we also did dxdp last year but that's a whole new ball game).

We like a large breakfast and dinner and little in between - it suits the way we eat and allows us to not stop at lunchtime.

This means that with ddp some days we will do a counter service breakfast for early emh but then we find we do need a snack at lunchtime.

However, for about four days out of our week we will eat a ts breakfast and dinner. This means paying oop for these meals.

This is why we gratefully accept free dining but wouldn't pay oop for it.

Each family eats totally differently and if you can manage with pastries or similar as your breakfast and make your own coffee in your room then do cs lunch and ts dinner you will be fine. Overall we love the ts meals at WDW and don't particularly like most cs meals.

Another vote for gardengrocer - the water is $7.99 for 24 bottles and at wdw is $2.25 for one so it saves us a fortune (plus we bring our favourite usa brands of cookies etc home and order them from gardengrocer too.)
