? on Character breakfast before park opens

How does this work? When you arrive at the gate do you give someone your name, confirm #? Then they just let you through or do they walk you to the restaurant? If I have an 8:10 PS, what is the earliest I can be let in the gate? (this is a non EMH day). I would like to stop for a minute and take pictures on the way to the restaurant.

last year dd and i had an 8:10 ps at mk and at ak. both morns the parks opened at 9:00. at both parks we were told to get into a line just for PS holders, a cm checked us off on a list but we had to wait until they decided it was time before being allowed into the park. at ak we were walked right to Breakfastasurus, we would not have been able to stop for photos, but at mk we were told to go straight to cinderella's castle, but we were left alone to walk there. captain hook and smee were right inside the gates and spent quite a few minutes flirting with my dd(she was 21 ) so of course we took pictures. we also took pictures of the castle then hustled to make our ps on time hope this helps, seems to depend on the cm and maybe the park.have fun
