? on "cash discount" for resort rooms...

Hi gang,

I have read here and there about "cash discounts" for resort rooms, but I have no idea of if this concept is true and if so what exactly this means AND how one would go about it...

For example, could we use a "cash discount" for one night at a different hotel prior to our DVC stay on points? What is the discount and are there specific resorts to which this cannot be applied?

It's 25% and is only available for DVC resorts, subject to availability. You can only get the discount through member services. If you have an AP, there are sometimes better discounts but if you want to stay in the same room they cannot "link" it to your DVC reservation.

We are passholders, so I guess I will be checking out that perk next! We're newer members (since last August) so just still getting the "lay of the land" so to speak!
