You get a drink and some pretzel things after about 30-40 minutes, the films start after about 20 odd minutes, the meal is served about an hour after the snack, then another snack of ice cream is served in the afternoon. Finally about an hour before landing you are served a snack, usually a sandwich and muffin. If you want extra drinks you can just go up to the galley and ask, drinks are free. On the return flight its similar, the lights go out after everyone has eaten, the last snack is breakfast items.
They do show a few choices of films and tv programmes on the seat back tvs so don't worry just make sure to plug the headphones in. You'll find the time does not drag and remember to drink plenty of water When they tell you the presentation is going to be on about the visa waiver form all the entertainment stops for about 20 -30 minutes so you have chance to fill the forms in the the entertainment usually picks back up where it stopped so you should see a whole film or show. If you get a chatty pilot they may point out a few landmarks along the way via the intercom. You'll know the meals are soon to be handed out you will smell them heating up (it's not a bad smell don't worry) but it might make your stomach rumble. You should be able to see the film choices for the month on the VA website
Jen UK is pretty much spot on! It will be in that order, the only times things change is if you have a light flight load and the crew can get through all the passengers quicker. You didnt say if you are taking any kids out but if you are and order a kids meal they will normally come out before you're meal, so hopefully you can eat you're food with some sort of peace. HTH
Yes , the drinks are free, unless some greedy party manages to drink 36 drinks between them. and they run out for you. I was furious that they let it happen.

We were given a bottle of water at some point as well. We were catered for that well last year and this year don't feel the need to take any food or drink on board with us.
