On Board Credit Balance

I want to deposit in the next couple of weeks our spending money for the cruise portion of the trip. How fast and how do you get the left over credit? If there is any money left over, we would want to use it for WDW which we are doing after the trip.

Also, how much do you think a typical family of four will spend. We paid for all our excursions already, we are not doing any spa treatments, but we all love to shop. We are also not big drinkers. Any suggestions/comments.
