Hi, we are trying to find descent airline prices. My question is has anyone tried getting tickets through Orbitz or Expedia? If so, what kind of service do they offer, are they reliable, are there any hidden cost they dont tell you about until after you buy or any other things that might be of help. First time flying. One last question will be flying with a 10 1/2 mth old, do buy a seat for the baby or just hold him. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. :) :)

I used Expedia once and it was okay but they don't carry my favorite airline so I haven't used them since.

As for your baby, buy the seat. It's worth every penny for safety reasons.

I have used expedia several times and have never had a problem. you can buy and "infant" priced seat for your child. but you must call the airline for that. make your ressie first then call teh airline and they can make the same one for your infant and they will charge you half of what you paid.

I use Orbitz, Expedia, ITA, Qixo & Travelocity to research fares. I've never actually booked airfare through any of them though. I go direct to the airline site to book. It is easier to deal direct should there be a problem.

I did book rental vans/cars through those sites in the past though. The last few years I've found better deals watching these boards and Mousesavers and then book through the rental agencies sites.
