We'll be arriving the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 15, catch Fantasmic that evening and be staying until Saturday, Oct. 21. We want to spend one day at Universal Studios and I'm wondering, Disneyland crowd wise, if it would be better to visit Universal on Monday or another day of the week. It will be really hard to wake up Monday morning and head to Universal instead of Disneyland, but it would be worth it if it would enhance the days we have at Disneyland and DCA. Ideally, I would like to spend our days at the Disneyland resort when it will be the least crowded. What would you recommend?

I grew up in Nevada and have been to Disneyland many, many times, but this will be my first visit in over 30 years. My husband and 8 year old son have never been. I have loved Disneyland for my entire life and we are so excited that our Disneyland family experience will be a reality in just a few short days!!! Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I'm so grateful to all of you for the knowledge that I've gained from this board over the past several months as we have planned our upcoming trip. A heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you!

Get Universal over with on Monday - then spend the rest of your time enjoying DL and DCA.

I would guess that M-F at this time of year shouldn't be bad at Disneyland. Just my opinion, I'd go to Universal on Wednesday, just for a change of pace.

When we went a couple years ago, we got to US when it opened, rode every ride, checked out the other attractions like Backdraft and Van Helsing's castle, saw a show (Waterworkd I believe), and still made it back in time to spend a couple hours at DL. Of course I wouldn't waste a days ticket for a couple of hours, we had AP's. We went at the beginning of the trip so we could get all of the "big" travel days out of the way in the beginning so we could just relax and have fun for the rest of the time.

Definitely go to Universal on Monday.

1) Typically, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the least crowded days at Disneyland.

2) You'll want to do the long drive up there while you're still fresh.

3) Universal will look like a big NOTHING once you've gone to Disneyland, so you should do it first and build up to Disneyland!!! :thumbsup2

Have fun!

IMHO -

Have you ever been to Universal in Florida? If so, do yourself a favor and skip the Hollywood Original. If you haven't, well. Let me just say I agree with the idea that if you do DL first, then Universal, it will really not seem very good. If you've never been to LA/Hollywood before there are a ton of great things to do that cost a lot less, besides spending every waking moment in DL and DCA as I'm known to do.

I would say Knott's is better than Universal and of course there's Long Beach and the Aquarium, and Hollywood and of course San Diego just 80 minutes south of Anaheim!
