My DD10 was diagnosed with T1D about 2 1/2 years ago. We've been doing insulin injections, but this spring we are making the leap to the Omnipod.

We are also making our first post-diagnosis trip to DisneyWorld this summer, so big things are happening all year.

Are there any tips from Omnipod users either in general or specific to doing DisneyWorld during the summer months?

Thank you in advance!

I've been using an Omnipod for about a year and a half, and I've been very happy with it. I actually got it right before a Disney trip, because I wanted to be able to swim without detaching, and not worry about tubing getting caught on things.

When I first tried it, I had trouble getting the pods to stick (it was summer, and I'm sure sweat didn't help). I started putting a Tegaderm or Polyskin dressing over the site, and then putting the pod on top of that (and inserting through it), and I haven't had any adhesion problems since then.

I use a little magnifying mirror to see if the cannula's properly inserted when I change the pod.
