Just booked this Hotel, I was wondering if anyone has stayed here? We are arriving for one night, the week before Christmas and bringing the girls. What is their to do for holidays? How are the accomadations? Any info would be great. Thanks

Hi, you are staying at huge Hotel that is more of a business golf resort hotel than a Disney hotel, but it is very nice...You are in the middle of nowwhere surrounded by golf courses. Your hotel sticks up in the air totally by itself, so you can see it from miles away....

Now, again, it is very nice!! I am not sure if there are any special things for kids...I would doubt it. They probably will have it decorated very nicely for the holidays...
You are right next to I-4 so to get from your hotel to the "action" on 192 or Disney is no more than 10 minutes to the exits off I-4 east to Disney or 192.

I have never been in there, but drive by it all the time as it a great shortcut to I-4 west when we head for the gulf coast from Disney.

It is not quite the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but you will have horses and cattle grazing all around the hotel to the south...Your views will be golf courses and Disney in the far distance if you are high enough and facing north...You might ask for a high room looking north and I'll bet you can see fireworks at Disney about 8-10 miles north...
For one night, I think you will find it to be excellent in terms of the room...the location is really kind of out of the way, but very handy to I-4....hope this helps...Ted

it's more of a business/golf destination, underscore golf. but the amenities are totally plush, a beautiful resort.

Its a beautiful resort we stayed there on convention with DH and my two dd's then 8 and 10. There are definately plus and minus to this resort, my dd's love the pool area and the lazy river as well as the lunch by the pool.

The rooms are georgous and the staff is excellent but its expensive to purchase meals, snacks and drinks in the resort.

We did not find many places suitable for my kids to eat either for breakfast or dinner. Dinner was a formal restaruant or a very nice "bar", if you have a car there is a strip mall right down the street. When we were there it had a nice italian restaurant and a chinese buffet. WE didn't have a car but got a "shuttle" twice. Breakfast was an expensive buffet or a starbucks cafe with scones and muffins.

Now - if your visiting WDW the shuttles run on the hour departing to the parks in the am with a midday break and then returning in the pm. Each hour in the am is to a different park likewise in the pm so if it is at all in the budget
I would totally recommend renting a car.

In fact if we were to stay here again I would rent a car, do a grocery stop and pack a cooler with drinks, snacks and breakfast cereal.

Thanks for all the responses. Staying at this resort is an Anniversary Gift for DH. We always bring the girls, since we don't have any relatives in FL to Babysit. From what you all have to say it's his kind of hotel. When I asked him if he would like to go to Disney for the day he stated "this is my gift and I want to relax. :confused3 " I am woriried about dining, after being spoiled w/the free dining I don't like to pay much for food.

Thanks for all your info.

there's some family restaurants near the resort within a shuttle drive. I'm blanking out, I think an Applebee's and a Bennigan's.

Let me add that when we visited it had just opened and they were planning on putting in a kids club. Also the roads around the area wern't even done yet so there may be more to do in the area now. If you have a rental car your all set!

Also while the shuttles to Disney are hourly they were very nice and I felt very safe in them. I took them to WDW myself with the kids while dh was in conference and did well. So maybe while he is golfing one day you can take the kids to a park? Since its a relaxing vaca with a little disney thrown in your going to love it.

There is also a big equestrian center on-site.

The website is pretty good and I suggest joining the club if you haven't already. The kids get a perk and you may get an room upgrade if available.

I always stay here when I visit. (Except now I live in Orlando)

The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast buffet in Trivis is great. The service is wonderful.

there is not much around it though, but its just a short drive to the parks.

If the weather is warm and sunny.............the pool, slide, and lazy river are great. I love that they have an adults only pool............although last time I stayed it was filled with kids.

We have stayed at this hotel 2 times and are returning for the 3rd time next week. Each time we have been able to get great rates by staying 3+ nights and booking in advance.

We enjoy the lazy river, Par 3 golf course, zero depth pool, water slide, and the beautiful accomodations.

This is definitely a luxury hotel! Be sure to sign up for the Omni club and you will have beverages delivered to your room each morning.

We plan to return again and again!

We became Omni select guests because we always stay there. And now only stay in Omnis when we travel.

Soon we'll move up another level:rotfl:

Be sure to do breakfast at Trivis one day...............thier bacon is out of this world.

And there is one server who remembers us...............EVERY SINGLE time we come................even if its been like a year between visits. Its one of the reasons we love the hotel.

That hotel is right down the road from me. It is is a beautiful setting and there is a small shopping center but not a lot to do in the area.

It is a quick trip to Disney but I would recommend having a car.
