I've heard once you go 1bed you don't go back!:lmao: Our vacation plans were as follows: 10/20-23 BLT LV Studio (keeping that) then we are moving to OKW 10/23-29 HH Studio. What I am in the process of doing is moving us to a 1bed at OKW from the 26-29th (tried for 25th but not available so I'm now waitlisted for that one night) and we'll keep the studio for the 23rd-26th. Will I ever be able to go back to a studio after a 1bed? will we need more points? :scared1: Will I end up in divorce court because of my disneyitis?????:scared1::scared1: :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Oh, you are in deep trouble. Staying in a one bedroom at Old Key West? You may never want to go home! :woohoo:

Robert

While we enjoy the space and luxury of a 1 br, when there's only 2 of us we are fine with the studio. It seems like a waste as we never use the jacuzzi or the kitchen. If you plan to cook a lot or have 4 people, you will LOVE the 1 br. We rent the larger villas when we bring family.

Uh, in a word, YES!
We were quite happy staying in a studio, even @ POP, no complaints. Once you have the luxury of a full fridge, dishwashwer, stove and Washer/dryer-not to mention the privacy of a bedroom, there is no going back!

We spend our last day @ Disney in a studio to conserve points and we leave so early in the AM just makes sense, and it's always sort of a "sigh" when we open the door.

Keep an eye on addon incentives :lmao:

You are done.....cooked.....it's all over.

After staying in a 1BR, the studio walls will start to close in on you! :rotfl2:

Save your money for an add-on!!! :thumbsup2

Ya know, it's funny, but I kinda have the same fear. Next month (down to 29 days) and it'll be our first trip home, and we have a 2 BDR at AKV (it's a 2 BDR because we are taking a 2 of our friends). I'm afraid we will get spoiled by such a large room!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

What'll we do if we get so used to it and can't get one next time!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Enjoy the trip!

You might as well go ahead and start saving for those extra points! We love the bathroom in the one BR. I can't give up the big shower and whirlpool tub. I usually give up a little time to stay in the one BR. Have fun!

There will be NO turning back now! We started in a studio, but we are now in the 1br. DW loves the extra space and the fact I can close the bedroom door so she can sleep while me and DS go exploring. Always at an unusually early hour.....can you guess who is to blame for that???

Don't forget your croquet set because you can play in the livingroom @ OKW.

Our last trip to WDW we stayed in a studio at BWV b/c we wanted to save points for our ABD trip that was later that year. Boy, was it hard being there w/ 2 kids and not having laundry in the room or the full kitchen. I told DH I would never stay in a studio again, I'm too spoiled by the 1 BR!! :rotfl:

When we were considering buying into DVC, we booked a studio at BWV to try DVC out first. We were upgraded to a 1 BR unknowingly to us until we opened the door. Of course staying in a 1 BR sold us immediately!

To this day we always wonder if they knew we had requested the DVC DVD and were considering becoming members so they upgraded us to put us over the top. If so, it obviously worked! :)

On our last trip we did a triple split stay. We went from a GV at OKW to a 2 bedroom at AKV to a room at the POR. :faint: We survived but it was rough. Thank goodness for the pool view, mini fridge, and spotless room at the POR. :thumbsup2

There are only two of us too and when we toured AKV, we were pretty much set on getting enough points for a Studio, but once we toured the model and saw how spacious the 1 Bedroom was, we immediately changed our minds. Our guide even warned us that we'd probably fall in love with the space of the 1 Bedroom over the Studio.

I agree with the others. We stayed in AKV 1 bedroom for a week and then went with a studio at HHI for a week. I will never stay in a studio again. It is worth the extra points to have the extra room, not to mention the nicer bathroom. Even though there were only 2 of us at HHI, I think the full kitchen and exta room are worth it. If one of you wants to sleep late or watch T.V. late (or early) it is hard to do in a studio.

omg 1 bedroom at OKW ???? that's it, resistance will be futile, you will never be able to go back :rotfl: 1 bedroom villas are fantastic :thumbsup2, OKW 1 bedroom takes that fantastic to a whole other level with both room & balcony size ::yes::

What everyone else said-I agree. Once we discovered there are 2 TVs in a 1 BR, that's it! Because of course, the living room one seems to be stuck on ESPN or at least on sports:rotfl2: So now I can go into the BR to watch my "Disney Propoganda" channel. We've managed in a studio for a few short nights, but only if I bring a good book to read.

Yeah, I am seriously worried about the same thing. We SWORE we wouldn't EVER book a 1 bdrm until we ABSOLUTELY had to. We are supposed to close around Sept. 5, already have 2 DVC ressies. Booked our first trip home to BLT next June for a week, studio MK. No problem. Decided we wanted to go to HHI for a few days around New Years. Got Jan 1-3 in a studio, WL for studio for NYE. Got antsy, reallly, really wanted to be there for NYE, so we called, and of course, what was available for cash? A 1 BR. Of course. Yeah, we booked it. So our FIRST NIGHT EVER in a DVC will be a 1 BR. Yay us for sticking to our guns! :laughing: Now I REALLY hope that WL comes through!

Guilty as charged!

I, too, am a onebedroomaholic.

There are many times that I get the one bedroom even if I am going down there by myself. I like the separate living room and bedroom but have to admit that what does it the most for me is the washer/dryer in second and the shower in first place.

I absolutely hate stepping into and out of bathtubs to take a shower. I've seen too many people in the hospitals who have missed their step and have fallen and broken hips and what not and have a bit of anxiety of getting in and out of tubs. Also, being far from a small person, that darn shower curtain just never seems to stay away from me! :)

I have booked our first trip "home" at BLT in a 2 bedroom because we have the points. We were thinking that some trips we would stay in a 2 bedroom & other trips a 1 bedroom. Is this a mistake?
