This trip - me, DH, DS2, and my 16 y.o sister. Pop for 5 nights - regular dining plan, Kidani for 4 nights - regular dining plan. We were full the whole trip!! We paid out of pocket for a few CS meals for our son and a couple TS also (the non- buffet restaurants).

With the split stay and different credits for each, at the POP we did use all our credits by morning of checkout-switch over to Kidani. But at Kidani we didnt seem to find time to use all our CS credits, we seemed to always be eating! And on the last day, we still had 10 snack credits to use so ended up getting a bunch of Mickey rice krispy treats to take home!

I remember saying to everyone the second to the last day - "now tomorrow we have to eat 3 TS meals, 6 CS meals, and 10 snacks!! Hope you guys are hungry!" LOL it is nice to have everything prepaid but I really think if we do a split next time we will only get the DP for the first half. The only reason I got it for both was because my husband wanted me to so everything was taken care of. Well, now we know! Cant believe anyone wouldnt think that was more than enough food!!:rotfl:

How did you not use all your credits? Did you guys share food?

We bought a lot of food OOP with the basic plan so are going to try the deluxe for our next trip. We are not a family that shares though. And we are a three meals a day family. I have low blood sugar so I have to eat regularly. No two meals a day for me. And I don't do cold breakfast so we don't eat in the room. We did have some snacks left over but that was because we were paying OOP for drinks. Next time I will use snack credits for waters and such.

Sun - Day 1 - arrived mid afternoon CS dinner, 3 CS credits, OOP 2 y.o.

& used up our 10 snack credits on Mickey rice krispy treats to take home.

Since all the portions are so huge, I couldnt have seen us eating anymore! 3 meals a day & 2 snacks??? Wow we wouldnt have been able to move!! LOL

Ok. So you just had snack credits left over. I was thinking that you had CS and TS left over. Like I said, we are not a family that shares food. DS has autism so eats only limited types of food. Plus he is 14. I am a picky eater but am getting better about trying things. Boyfriend is more adventurous than me. DD is only 9 months and has never been but we plan to share with her. I am OK with tossing fries that are not eaten. I think the portions are huge but I am not one that feels the need to clean my plate.

We got the DxDDP for our upcoming trip and I know it is going to be way too much food. I just couldn't narrow down the ADRs I wanted! LOL I figure we'll just eat what we really like so that we aren't over stuffed and use the snacks for drinks and things. Then we don't have to carry anything with us (we usually bring water).

On our last trip we had 3 or 4 counter credits left over by our departure day so my wife ran down to the resort food court and grabbed some food for the drive home. Sometimes hard to use all the credits because some kids are hungry for only a 5-minute window during the day.

We only do the DDP with one snack a day. We always use the snack credit on a beverage during the day...I like the lemonade slush. Also we get extra milks for the kids.

Also, we are not huge breakfast eaters. I brought some little boxes of cereal for my 2 y.o and bought a pint of milk from food court and put in fridge. Me and my 16 y.o sister are perfectly fine with a yogurt for breakfast and my husband a cinnamon bun. None of us eat much breakfast at home, so aside from a couple character breakfasts, we didnt need much. Also, most of the days we had Lunch ADRs I made them at like 11:30-11:45 so we didnt really need a big breakfast beforehand. I guess the only advantage to the Deluxe plan is getting more TS meals but I know if we had it we would have been going home with 30 rice krispy treats LOL and a bunch of unused meal credits.

We always do DDP. We bring light breakfast foods from home (pop tarts, granola bars, honey buns, etc). We have found that the entrees & snacks are fine but the desserts typically push us over the edge. The CS desserts are just not that great yet we eat them anyway because "we paid for them"! It's the same way with the TS desserts. Although we will hafve them boxed to take back to the resort some evenings. I like the convenience of having all of our meals prepaid, not having to worry about what is the best deal when looking at the menu. Maybe with free dining next summer I won't feel the need to eat the dessert when I'm not even hungry anymore. Then again... I don't know if I can pass up dessert while on vacation!! :rolleyes1

We are going in 10 days and we have a dining plan for all 10 of them. However, even though we're staying on Disney property, we will take a few days off and wonder out to Universal Stuidios, Miami and SeaWorld.

Instead of only sticking to one TS credit per person per meal, we will splurge a little on 3 signature dining restaurants (2TS credits per meal), and then use our snack credits during the Wine & Food Festival.

I don't think DP is too much if you go in it with a strategy:) However, judging by the pictures of DIS users that eat at Disney, individual portions most of the time are too much food:)

Also, we are not huge breakfast eaters. I brought some little boxes of cereal for my 2 y.o and bought a pint of milk from food court and put in fridge. .

You could have used your snack credits for the little boxes of cereal and for the little containers of milk. That's how I used some of my snack credits as well...at least last June it worked that way.

Seems you had more than enough food ---- But you did pay out of pocket for a few items/meals.

It seems to me, that all 3 meal plans are more than enough food, but too often, more than enough of the wrong food. (Often requiring OOP for some of the right food).

Yes, since our son is 2 and not on DP we paid for a few kids meals. Not because we didnt have enough to share, but because he wouldnt eat what we were ordering and I didnt want chicken nuggets for every CS meal! And my aunt who lives in FL came to visit on my bday and we went to downtown disney and she took us out to lunch at Rainforest Cafe - which we loved and wish it was on the DP!

I don't look at the snack credits as that many. I figure with the heat, at least one of those is one a water or drink of some sort. PLUS, we have some small children, so we do seem to get a popcorn here and there.

Left over credits cover breakfast and snacks for the way home.

We eat at a lot of 2TS restaurants. I do think I would be hard pressed to eat breakfast everyday plus 2 other meals. For our upcoming 8 day trip, I think we have 2 character breakfast ADRs.

We did the dlxdp this year.We had about 10 meal credits left over but we still broke even as far as cost. We ate mostly signatures for dinner and a late charechter breakfast or early lunch. We ate dinner late like 8pm so there was always 9+ hours between meals I guess thats why it never seemed like too much food. 3 meals a day I could never do, but dlxdp is great if you eat a lot of 2ts meals.

We upgrade to the Deluxe everytime we go. It is just DH and I and we like to eat dinner at the 2 tableservice meals. DH has to eat fairly often because of his diabetes. We often bring alot of candy and cookies home with us and that's ok. We like that every meal is covered.

We found that the regular plan was more then enough food. we had 16 snack credits left at the end of our trip, and we brought back a bunch of goofy candy.

We always end up getting Disney goodies, with our left over snack credits and the kids take them home to their friends. Never can seem to remember to use our snack credits. A CS a day and a TS a day is really filling. However, I don't have kids who will eat cold breakfast items. So I do buy them a breakfast every morning either at the food court at the resort or at the park we end up at that morning. They are your eggs, bacon, and waffles kind. Yes I realize this is my fault and I have spoiled them :)

This is why we are getting the deluxe plan in May. We are staying at CSR and for the three of us (sharing with DD 18 mos) it will cost around $40 for breakfast. And that doesn't include the two character breakfasts that we have to have. Yeah, DS, Boyfriend and I are spoiled. But I don't think that eating a healthy breakfast is a bad thing. Cold cereal is usually (not always!) sugar. And poptarts are horrible. I just can't do it. I don't like cereal anyway though.
