OMG ... There it was at the County Fair

I've read over and over again on Disboards about the infamous Dole Whip. I was shocked when I saw a stand for them at our local county fair. I went up and asked the young lady "Are these the same Dole Whip's they sell in Disneyworld?" She looked at me a little funny and then said "yes, they are."

I closed my eyes and pretended I was in Disney. It was SO good!

It was such a fun surprise and it really got my family excited for our upcoming trip.

They also have them at the MN state fair. Can't wait to have one again in a few weeks : )

We were at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk yesterday and they had a booth there!

I thought the only two places you could find this was WDW and in Hawaii. I'll have to be on the lookout for this in more places now.

In the area I grew up (SW Missouri), we have a pineapple whip - they have them at the Ozark Empire Fair and there is a small stand in Springfield that is open seasonally. It's not exactly the same - it's lighter in texture, slightly sweeter, and more natural tasting, IMO. (It tastes exactly like pineapple sherbet that's been whipped.) My first bite of a Dole whip was mildly disappointing, as I was expecting the pineapple whip that has been my favorite treat since I was very small - but I eventually decided I could enjoy a Dole whip while in Disney and enjoy a pineapple whip when I visit my family back home. Not the same, but both are good!

A few years ago we were at our State Fair and I noticed a stand that had Pineapple ice cream, as I was ordering it, I wasn't sure what it would be like....sure enough it was the same exact thing. I was so excited . Unfortunately I haven't seen the stand since. We will be going to our State Fair on Friday, I am going to have to look for that stand again. Wish me luck since the next time we will be in WDW, it will be in January....I need to have my fix now
