OMG - Serious Happy Dance and No One Around to Share With!!

I cannot believe my good fortune today!!!! We changed reservations about a month ago from a 2 bedroom savannah view at AKL to save some points so we could take a two week trip from Thanksgiving into the first week of December. We were hoping to switch to 2 studios at AKL. Sadly there was nothing available except for studios at SSR. Now I have nothing against SSR, but we've just stayed there in May of '09 and it was a, I have to admit, a bit of a let down. So, I'm working from home today and have just finished a project that consumed about 70 hours a week for close to three months. As you can imagine, with the trip being so close and my brain having pretty much melted and slipped out of my ears around month 2 and a half of the project from h-e-l-l, my mind began wandering (along with my web browser) to disney. I spent some time looking at various resorts and points. On a mad whim I called member services to see if we could get in somewhere else (for the full week as I'm not up for changing resorts this trip). I wanted to see if we could get BC or BWV (well I really wanted VWL, but knew that if BC and BWV's were a total long shot then VWL would be an impossibility). As expected there were only a few nights available at either resort and as I said, I didn't want to move resorts on this trip. I was just about to give it up as a lost cause when I decided to ask about VWL...and..I GOT THE ENTIRE WEEK

I almost jumped through the phone and gave the nice member services rep a bear hug. VWL is our all time favorite resort. Now I just have to wait until someone else in the fam comes home so I can share the news. 17 days 'til VWL, yippee!

I must admit that I did change my spring break from 2 VWL studios to an AKV savannah view 1 bedroom, and I'm just as happy as you are!!! (I did this awhile ago, in December, so no, you didn't get our studios!) VWL is my favorite resort, but I really wanted to see animals during my spring break!

Thanks for the congrats! We were just talking about scraping up enough money to buy resale there because we thought it would be impossible to get in at the 7 month mark (never mind 2 and a half weeks before the trip) and we love it so much. Maybe I'll go ahead and save the cash for my son's college fund instead, lol.

We were really looking forward to staying at Kidani also and that's where we're staying when we go in Nov/Dec so I can totally relate. Hope you have a fantastic time...we haven't stayed at AKL yet, but have visited the resort a couple of times and it has the same kind of feel as WL with the bonus of having exotic wildlife outside the window (this trip we'll have to content ourselves with bunnies in the bushes and fake moose tracks in the sidewalk, lol). Glad you got in where you wanted to be

It really is great that we both got what we wanted!!!I'm always tickled by the little springs in the villa pool at VWL. I'm going on this Spring break with my DSis and a DF. DF isn't as enamoured of doing non park things, like riding bikes in FW, which is something I almost always do at some time during a VWL stay. She's happiest at the parks, so if I'm going to have some alone time, I chose AKV and the animals.

We stayed at BLT for Marathon weekend, and I visited Kidani with DGS and DDiL for an afternoon...it's hard for me to stay away from AKV. I see you've visited it too! Have fun!

VWL is my favorite and I'm trying Kidani - Savannah View room next and I can't wait. After that it's BLT - LV for my birthday trip and back to VWL for Christmastime. Have a wonderful trip!!!
