Toured the bungalow at the Poly on Wed. All I can say is OMG. We have 300 DVC points so it would be a huge stretch to stay there but would love to for a couple nights.

Unfortunately my phone was having issues. I have one blurry living room picture I will try to post.

Was there something special going on to get the tour, or can we just ask the front desk for a tour?

They give them daily to DVC members of you just stop by. I think at 2pm or maybe it's 3pm? As long as weather is cooperating. Stop at the DVC booth in the lobby.

DVC is offering bungalow tours for members only, not non-members. These tours are done every day starting at 2pm and every 1/2 hour until the last tour time at 4pm. You meet at the DVC kiosk in the Poly lobby. Just show up and show your DVC ID. You will have an opportunity to see the studio models too if you have not already seen them or stayed in them. Since I live so close I've done the tour a couple of times.

Oh, good point Kat4Disney! If the weather is bad enough that Recreation closes the pool and/or outdoor activities, the Member bungalow tours will be suspended for safety. It might not be raining but if lightning is detected within a few miles they will cancel outdoor activities. It wouldn't be good Disney "show" to have a gaggle of DVC members fried by lightning whilst going outdoors to see the bungalow. :scared: :rolleyes1 :joker:

we just happened to be at the Poly (girls monorail shopping crawl) and there was a tour at 2:00pm. It was pouring but no lightening.

So were they doing the tour at that time, Paticake? Did you get to go?

One thing to remember about lightning in FL is that you may not yet have seen lightning or heard thunder but companies that need to focus on safety like Disney monitor area conditions and when there is lightning in a certain radius there is a risk, so they will shut down outdoor activities.

They had cancelled many of the tours in the days before I did it in Sept. The guide was happy they were getting the one in that we were doing because there were dark clouds coming again but were still a ways off. Basically it was as you said - not good PR to have potential customers get fried while going to see some rooms!

The bungalows were nice but I just can't justify the points. I would much rather a 3bd at BLT gfv or bwv. Just my 2c....

Ditto! Entirely agree with you and Kat4. I grabbed a weeknight for October when the Poly first opened up for rez's because I don't own there and I figure that since there are only 20 total bungalows I would have a lot of trouble trying to get one later. Held onto that rez for about 3 months and thought, that's crazy. One night was 120 points?? I have 4 times that many points per year, but I STILL cannot justify that crazy price. I cancelled my rez because I thought the exact same thing as you two, "I can book a GV at Aulani or VGF for that!!". For folks that have lots of money and want to buy/book the bungalows, I am truly happy for them. I don't think you will ever, ever find me booking one because I have a big family and a 2 bdrm doesn't cut it. I can do 2.5 nights in a GV at OKW in off season for the price of ONE night…….

Yup-- I will never part with a three night weekend for one night in a bungalow.

I can't see staying in the bungalows and only getting two real beds (one king, one queen). All the rest are pullouts. It's too bad they didn't put two queen beds in the second bedroom and forget about the murphy beds totally. I think someone in DVC has the murphy bed earworm in their head. Even the THV has real beds for six people.
