OMG - I lost my $500 AirTran credit!

I am extremely embarassed to admit this and really upset with myself but I messed up the date and lost my credit. Has anyone ever called and begged for them to reverse it? I had 2 credits that ended in July from my trip last November. I'm ready to book and I just can't believe I did that.

I've been embarassed to even write this on the boards since I realized it, but I really want my money and hoping someone has some widsom on how to deal with this so that I don't sound like a fool on the phone with AirTran.

This falls under the can't hurt to ask category. One time my sister's credits expired and when she called they let her book but be prepared to book then and there b/c I would not risk one rep saying yes and calling back to have another say no.
 
I don't have any advice or experience in this matter but I just wanted to say I'm really sorry! Hope it all works out for you.

I don't know about Airtran but I got my credits back from Southwest one time. I thought they expired 1 year from scheduled trip, not from booking date. They had already expired when I called to book using them. They let me use them.

Hope you get to use them!!
 

I tried back in June, i lost mine by two days, They wouldn't give them to me sorry.

Never hurts to try. Just be polite (as I'm sure you will), because irate customers don't generally get what they want.
I wish you much Pixie Dust, I know how upset I would be with myself over $500.00.
 
Thanks everyone for your replies. I was really scared to call and get a "sorry, there's nothing we can do."

I did call and asked kindly (begged) if there was anything they could do as I had paid that $500 and the rep put me on hold for about 10 seconds and came back and said they would let me use it but I had to book over the phone right then. :yay: I was ready with my flight info and got it all taken care of. There was a $75 phone booking fee, but that was better than losing $477! Although I felt I was pushing my luck, I then very nicely asked if I could use the $25 vouchers I got online and she said she didn't think they would work, but they did so that saved $100! Whew! What a load off my back and a lesson I won't forget!

Thursday morning I make our ADR's and then we're all set!

That is great news!!!

This is another reason I love Airtran! They remember that their customers are human and usually willing to help them out!
