I went to the same high school as David Hasselhoff and Jeff Hornacek (NBA player). David was is class with my cousin but is much older than me. Jeff is a year older than me and was very good friends with my sister.

Fitness guru Denise Austin lives just a couple of blocks away from me and I run past her house all the time... Foo Fighters, DAve GRohl used to live here, too, but he recently moved--- I did see him in the international foods section at Safeway one time and talked to him. (like a dork!!)

I heard that. She went to my HS all 4 years. We live at least 2-3 hours north of Amish country...wait they may be closer in PA. Anyway, she wasn't Amish unless her family was non practicing or she moved in with other relatives before high school. She played soccer, was a library page and a cheerleader.

OMG! That is an incredible story. I remember exactly where I was when I heard about this. I can picture myself sitting in the living room of our apartment reading Newsweek and Time magazine. Wondering where that child is much be haunting. There must be a website somewhere with the deceased and the survivors.

I don't remember his name anymore. I was pretty young. That poor kid used to tell us horrible stories though. The stories were pretty graphic, so I won't share them here. But I remember the kid saying that Jim Jones was the devil. We had no idea how bad it was until the news broke.

I don't know anyone famous tho I did go to HS with a kid who ended up playing for the RedSox for about 2 games before being sent back to the minors.

Living so close to Gillette, we see many of the NFL players around and when I was a kid I went to school with their kids - one of my best friends in college even saw one wearing just a face cloth when she was babysitting his kids and he came out of the shower not realizing she was there.

I don't know that I'd call it "knowing" but DH has met several dozen numerous famous and semi-famous people (Kitty and Mike Dukakis, Steve Grogan, local TV anchors, the owner of the Miami Heat, a few other sports stars) - he's even been inside their houses - how has he met so many locally famous people? working on their boilers of course.

My SIL and BIL live in your area (I'm going to assume, from you mentioning Gillette) and they've run into a lot of Pats players...Teddy Bruschi (is that how you spell his name?) being the story I heard about recently. They saw him in a garden store and my SIL pretty much stalked him! LOL

As for me, Ryan Howard of the Phillies and David Freese of the Cardinals both went to my high school. And for anyone who's from St. Louis and remembers the Stix, Baer, and Fuller stores (before they became Famous-Barr and then Macy's)--I grew up across the street from the Baers. Very, very cool people.

Um, and Elizabeth Taylor's like my 2nd or 3rd cousin, but I don't know her at all.

I went to the same high school with Johnny Depp. Miramar High in Miramar Florida. When I was a freshman a friend pointed him out to me because he was hot and popular even back then! He had a band that had produced single records which was a big deal back then! We all bought them. I remember the title to one single was Dead Men Don't Tan! It sucked, I thought. My brother actually knew him. They were in the same classes and had mutual friends. It was a big deal for us when he was on 21 Jump Street! Wow, we knew someone famous. We had no idea how famous he would become.

I thought he was from Kentucky. Maybe he lived here at one point.

When I was a kid I was playing baseball in the backyard with a bunch of people. Later found out one of the adults was George Brett who was on the Kansas City Royals at the time.

I forgot this one. Bill Pullman is a neighbor of ours near our Montana house. He lives about 30 miles from us, but in MT terms, that is a neighbor. My DH spends a lot of time out there in the summer and Bill comes to all the little hokey small town barbecues and celebrations. DH has met him at the local IGA, community theater presentation, and around town. He has a ranch and is just a regular guy out there.

Johnny Depp may have been born in Kentucky, but I know he went to my high school. He may have felt he was a weird kid, but in high school he was hot and had a rock band! Not many kids in high school had 'official' records made back then. I also know he left Miramar to go to Hollywood California with his band and not much later ended up on 21 Jump Street.
