My DS4 is famous for making spontaneous comments!

On Wednesdays I usually watch my friend's 3 year old son while she takes a class at the library. In return she takes and brings back my son from preschool (her son and my son are in the same class). Her 3 year old son is not yet potty trained, and it never fails that while I am babysitting he does #2. The smell of it is EXPLOSIVE!

Well today was no different. He happened to have gone at the same time she arrived to pick him up. Being that she was going to go take her two to lunch she decided to change his diaper before leaving. Of course the house was perfumed with his odor. She gets him ready and goes out to leave. The moment she is gone, DS4 tells me "Mommy it smells really really bad, can I use the spray?" I tell him sure. He runs to the bathroom and gets the spray and sprays it around the living room and EIK area. Well not even 2 minutes later, she knocks on my door and says that her 5 year old had to use the bathroom. Of course she walks in to the smell of GLADE air freshner.

Then out of no where, DS4 tells her " J diaper smells really really bad! I had to use a whole lot of spray the house smells good again!"

Boy, was I embarrassed!!!!

Well, I'm sure she knows how bad the smell is, so don't be so embarrassed. Plus kids tend to say what we all think anyhow, I love that about them.

Too funny! :lmao:

It could have been worse. Your son could have blamed it on her? Or like me, your child could have been outside a public bathroom door asking "Mommy, are you pooping?"

Kids, gotta love them.

:rotfl: Oh yeah he has done this one too!!! DS is absolutely FAMOUS for blurting out things.

You shouldn't feel embarrassed. She should. No reason that kid should not be trained at 3 years old.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that thought that.

Except that every kid is different. It takes some kids longer to get the hang of the potty.

That is hilarious!:lmao:

Too bad the perfect parents of the DIS had to barge in on this thread.

Hmmmm never said I was perfect in anything. Just voicing my opinion on a subject. To bad some can't do it with out an eye roll or a rude comment.

That is too cute :) When DS4 needs to use the potty and it smells, he asks right away for me to spray it or he wont go in there :goodvibes

Kids, gotta love them!

Funny story OP!
For what it's worth... I AM a perfect parent, but my son wasn't trained at 3.

hmm when i became a father my daughter was already walking, talking, reading, potty trained, bathing herself, guess i'm perfect huh?

lol but then i adopted my step daughter at AGE 10 she was my kid long before then though, and as daddy,, she was still training at age 3+

I guess there were no hard feelings. I picked up her son for CCD yesterday afternoon, and picked up her 5 year old this morning, and everything was fine.

I told my DH and he was ROFL! He thinks that our DS is going to have MANY MANY more Foot in Mouth moments since like many of you said, he tells it like it is!

LOL its true.

Shouldnt have been any hard feelings, in fact i would have said. Yup J sure is a stinky boy lol... most boys are !
Maybe it would have made her realize how stinky he is ( bet she knows though LOL) and work on him putting that poop in the potty lol.
I babysat my cousin the other day he will 3 at end of April adn he is getting really good at the potty, but he had an accident and i had to clean it up of course I was GAGGING and about to throw up!!! :rotfl:
Jack is only 4 so its not like its been a little over a yr since he has been trained, but i guess i lost my iron stomach since then.

Same here! Chris has also been trained for a little over a year, but boy, how quickly our stomach loses its ability to handle that smell. Then again, I think we become immune to our own childs smell. Because I do know that when it is someone else's poppy diaper I am changing, (even when Chris was still in diapers), it smelled a heck of a lot worse! LOL

I am divorced and ds (6) LOVES to tell people all about it and as quickly as possible-mymomanddaddon'tgetalongsotheygotdivorcedbutthisisn'tmydadthisismymom'sboyfriend!
I usually smile and ask the frightened cashier if there was anything else she'd like to know. Kids are so wonderfully honest, aren't they?
