OMG! Have to Share!!!!

Today is my brother's birthday. Having cake at my mom and dad's and they come over with three packages...one for my brother, one for my sister and one for me....they say since our birthdays are close together they want to give us all our present today. We have to open our presents together.....so we open them and we find out ..... WE ARE ALL GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE!!!!!!! We are DYING!!!!! Late Feb. or Early March of 2013. All 12 of us. They even ordered the Cruise DVD, we all just sat and watched, the kids are beside themselves excited. None of us have ever been on a cruise, let alone DCL. They want a 5 night cruise and we can get verandah rooms...my mom says what is the point of going if you don't have a balcony? Anyone know which Dreams agent would be most patient with first timers?

Huh. Come to find out there are no 5 night cruises on the Dream for 2013. The DCL books my parents got from AAA list the 5 night cruises for 2012, so we got all excited about doing the one that went to Key West, but apparently it isn't offered for 2013. I guess they didn't sell well? So now I am looking at 4 night Dream Cruises and a couple nights at the Poly before the cruise. I just tried to get a quote from Dreams though and got an error page. A page of goobedlygook and computer speak. Ah well, I should probably read about more about the stateroom categories first anyway. I'm pretty clueless in this area of Disney.

Family vacations are a big deal in my family. We did great trips when I was a kid (I miss the days when you could make a bed in the back of the station wagon for the kids and leave at 1am while dad drove all night and you woke up in a whole new place) and we still travel quite a bit together now. Nothing this big though. Our last big trip was to WDW in Dec. of 2004 which is when I found the DIS. I'm still a little stunned...but I know my mom has always wanted to take a cruise and we all love Disney so............

There were tears in my mom's eyes even before we opened the packages. We couldn't imagine what was in them. My mom has always wanted to take a cruise, but my dad was never interested, so I'm really happy she is going to get her cruise. No idea how she talked my dad into it.

I've been crash course learning about cruising. I call her every time I learn something new....planning is fun and going well. I requested a quote from DU and got Teresa (our little Teresa) as our agent she has a hold on some awesome rooms for us on the Dream....it's all very exciting.
