OMG DVC Dropped the ball! Missing reservation for NYE!

Called today to pay for my DDP...they don't have me down for nye @VWL!!! I have a ressie # and everything! ...i'm on the phone now with DVC. Any suggestions? This stinks big time...help!
 
They are saying that my waitlist for that night never should have went through. So...no room for that night. I had a reservation #, an email and everything. So, my nye room at vwl has magically disappeared! Poof! Now, we're in a jam. :confused:

To me you're not in a jam at all. Because THEY NEED to figure this out. I'm sure they have the power to do so - what size suite?

If not DVC - but you should be top of the WL (a given now) - then other inventory. Yes NYE is at capacity. But there are last minute cancellations.

There have been times that DVC has overbooked (or more likely the resort is due to a room going out of commission) and put others at the regular hotel (no idea if this works for your party size). There have been VWL/WL stories where some were bumped to a suite in Wilderness Lodge and given the DDP free/or gift card.

But regardless I would not get in any huge conversations with them - just keep repeating "you need to figure this out" over and over. That should be your answer to every reply.

Yes mistakes happen. But this is one mistake that is theirs to rectify.

Ok...sigh... Here's what we got figured out. They will put us back at Beach Club Villas for 1 night (31st). So now we are at BCV 22-27, VWL 27-31 and back to BCV for NYE. But they said they will put us on a priority waiting list for VWL for NYE. Really didn't want to move for just 1 night. But...at least we have a room. Good golly. Didn't really want this hassle today. Not to mention I paid for the DDP as well! Ugh!

Tell them you will take nothing less the the Dream Suite in Cinderella's Castle!!! Now, that would be worth moving one night for! :cool1:

No doubt!! That would be awesome! I'm finally calming down from this whole thing. Just finishing up packing today. looking forward to Disney!

I'm glad they found somewhere for you to sleep - I'm sure they are booked to the gills. Don't let it ruin your stay and have a wonderful time.
 
I don't think anything could ruin our vacation. But this almost did! I'm glad they came through for us. My husband said we should have booked a room at Pop for the night. But, I thought that we shouldn't have had to pay cash, we have points to use. It wasn't our fault in the 1st place! I printed out my reservation confirmation # for my old ressie (12/31 VWL) and my new ressie # (for BCV 12/31) just in case. Between the 2 of them, we should have a room for NYE!!!

It's nice that they found you a room but they still made a major mistake that needs to be addressed and compensated for. If they are not held accountable, they will let this happen to others.

I would contact Bilby on this one.

I'm glad you have a room but I think you need to hold them accountable. THEY made a mistake. You have been hugely inconvenienced by both the time ans aggravation you've endured so far, and the fact that you will lose valuable time packing, unpacking and travelling when you should be enjoying your vacation on one of the busiest days at WDW when time is of the essence. I would keep calling and demand to be compensated in some way
 
Bummer, but to be honest we usually move to BCV on NYE-we do MK NYE preview midnight fireworks the 30th (you can boat back to VWL), then we check into BCV and have never had a problem walking into EPCOT for NYE even late afternoon. Then its such a simple stroll back to the room after midnight fireworks.
 
What is really unacceptable is that they made a reservation for you, sent the confirmation and then cancelled it without notifying you. What it you had just showed up?

Please contact member satisfaction to make sure they know. Someone needs some retraining so they knwo not to cancel a reservation, without following proper procedures.
 
I wonder what your online account was showing during all of this? Did it show the reservation, then not show it, etc?
 
This sounds similar to a problem I ran into a little over a week ago. I decided to head to DL for a couple of nights and knew it was unlikely that GCV would have availability but inquired if there were any studios or 1BR's available for 2 nights in Dec. The CM said she had a studio available for 12/12-12/16!!!! I couldn't believe it b/c I really wanted to head down for the 14th-16th. It required borrowing points and I had to cancel 1 night of a reservation in June in order to free up enough but that was an ok trade off. However, when the CM completed the transaction the system had borrowed 1 too many points so I was placed on hold to figure out what was happening. Next thing she comes back and tells me they are checking with GCV because there's a question on if the room was even available?!?!? They decided there wasn't so they agreed to put my points back to the next UY and then to try and get the June night back which they were able to do. 40 minutes later I was right back where I started and the explanation was that the 2 systems don't always talk to each other well. :sad2:

I had received a confirmation number for the 2 nights, it was showing in my online account and I even got the confirmation email a couple of hours later.
