Or might I say, her first date with a non-gay boy. She had a boyfriend last summer who she dated for about 2 weeks until he ditched her for another guy. A month later he decided he had made a mistake and begged her to take him back. As if. She told him to get lost.
So, this is a new boy coming around. I told her we'd have to meet him in the house and he'd have to be willing to sit down and tell us about himself a little. No problem. Cameron showed up and was very polite, answered all my questions about his school, his driving, his family, etc. He told me he was going to take DD to a nearby park and teach her how to skateboard--how's that for a smooth operator, haha. I asked them if they wanted to take some water bottles but he assured me that he'd get her something to drink if she got thirsty. Sweet. I told him I appreciated him coming over today and that we love our daughter very much and expect any guy to treat her in a gentlemanly fashion. Plus, if we have to make a police report I have a good description.
My daughter wanted to kill me for that one, haha. She should count herself lucky her 22yo brother wasn't here.
The date was a success, although he didn't take her anywhere to eat(he's 17; I don't think he has a lot of money, hence the skateboard lesson.) She was all bubbly when she came home and immediately asked if she could spend the night with her BFFs, I'm sure so she can give them the low-down on her date.
