This mornings topic on my local radio station was "One Dish Ideas". They wanted listeners to call in with recipes for cooking in just one dish. They had some great calls...including some from men & college students cooking in dorms.
But this one struck me as the funniest ...and stuck with me all day.
Doing a search on google.com for Omelet in a Bag, I found MANY variations...here is just one I found. Apparently it's pretty popular with campers. I can see why. There was even one version for hikers -- who froze it before they left. I found another for making pudding in a ziploc bag too & placing the bag in a cold stream for the pudding to set up. LOL Clever!
Omelets in A Bag
In a freezer quart zip lock bag, add the following:
2 eggs
Bacon - sausage - or ham (or what ever)
Grated cheese
Salsa (we like hot - use your favorite)
Salt and pepper
With your hand on the outside of the bag, mix everything together in the bag and let all of the air out that you can and seal the bag. Place the bag in a pot of boiling water and add the lid. I cook two at a time for 12 minutes after the water starts boiling again. The omelet will come right out of the bag and I top with a little more grated cheese.
