spending over $50.00 for a few things at the new store in Mansfield Mass I
will never go back and buy meat there again. Sure it is marbled like beef should be but it is so grizzley. Has anyone else bought their beef, YUCK, I hate grizzle

We rec'd a Christmas gift (one of the sampler pkgs) a few years ago. Everything was good--Not the best I've had, but don't remember them being fatty.

I shopped in that same store. But everything we got was great

My grandparents got caught up in their mail order system, they are in their 80s and can barely chew food anymore but they still order a whole shipment of steaks monthly on the "automatic plan". :headache: Then they offer steaks to anyone who comes over. I told them to stop the shipments but they always say how great the quality is. Um, does it matter if you can't enjoy it??? :rotfl:

I was at that store today! I have been buying their meat for years and absolutely love it! I haven't ever gotten a bad (tough, or grizzly) piece yet.

We didn't like the pre-seasoned prime rib steaks as they were way too salty for our taste, but they were tender. We love the veal patties, & the potatoes au gratin are great.

Took advantage of the specials today so I will be trying the pork chops & the stuffed sole.

What specials do they have going this month?

I would let them know you are not happy

I've had quite a few Omaha Steak items. I hate grizzle and anything remotely fatty. Causes me to be sick. I like their stuff for that reason. No real fat for me. Sorry you got some bad ones. I would let them know that you didn't like them and that the quality was sub par.

I didn't know they had retail stores!

I got gifts from them twice & it was some of the best beef we've ever prepared & eaten.

The specials were if you spent over $50 you chose 3 items off a list for 19.99. Not 19.99 each but for all 3. There was chicken, the 4 marinated pork chops, 2 stuffed sole, 4 lemon lava cakes, & several others.

OP- just out of curiousity, what cut of steak did you buy? And what cut of steak do you usually buy at the supermarket?

We've been eating Omaha Steaks for 20 years. I had a couple that weren't good in all that time. It's hard to eat any other beef after we've had Omaha Steaks.

I'd complain...those steaks are WAY too pricey for grizzle!

When were you there? We didn't go to Omaha Steaks but we did stop at Mansfield Crossing yesterday for the first time on our way home from the Cape. We lucked out since we had to buy ds14 a fleece jacket at LLBeane and they were celebrating their 1-year anniversary being there and we got a $20 coupon! :thumbsup2 Also had lunch at Bertucci's! :)

Steaks at Vons ("Rancher's Reserve") and Costco are just as good for less money.

I think they are way overpriced but that said I love them. I send them to my dad out of state for birthday or father's day gifts.

Definitly call. I've had to do that and I was credited for what I wasn't satisfied with.
Good Luck

I went to college at Wheaton in Norton MA 30 years ago and when you guys talk about all the stores and growth there it just amazes me. N. Attleboro, Mansfield and Norton used to be the middle of nowhere.....

I believe that would be gristle and not grizzle/grizzly.

Of course I was thinking y'all had bear meat there for a second! ;)

We received a gift pack of Omaha steaks last Christmas. Steaks, filet mignon, burgers.....we were underwhelmed. It wasn't awful or anything, just not all that great.

I am going to agree with you, costcos steaks are good. I get the Angus beef from Roches bros supermarket and I love it

Thank you for correcting me, I wasn't thinking when I wrote that:rotfl:
