When I turned on my camera the other day, the entire screen appears red. Everything looks red when viewed through the lens and the pictures are coming out with a red tint.
I have tried to consult the instruction booklet but I have to say that it is beyond my comprehension.
Do anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to correct it.
I have never had a problem with this camera before.
Not sure of the camera model number but it says C-750 Ultra Zoom, Olympus Camedia, 4.0 megapixel, ED Lens.
Thanks.

is there a faq on the support page for olympus? i am guessing it is out of warranty. or you might be able to email there and they could tell you if they know what is wrong plus an estimate of fixing it even. i know canon will email for free i think even after warranty is over but might charge you to talk to a real person on the phone

If you end up having to send in for repair, you may want to weigh the option of just replacing it. It may cost as much or more to repair than to replace.

BTW, have you tried simply "rebooting" the camera? By that, I mean to physically remove the batteries from the camera, maybe leaving them out overnight, and replacing them, to see if that might correct the problem?

I just checked and the Olympus C-730 was part of the huge Sony CCD chip recall of Fall '05. Canon recently added new models to their list. It is possible that Olympus has also added your model to thier list. If so, then it is covered even out of warranty. It can't hurt to call them and ask if your model is part of the recall. Even if it has not been officially added to the recall, it might be experiencing problems related to it and they might help you.
