Olympus C750 -- IT'S HERE!! (UPDATE: with PICTURES)

Well sort of. I saw this week that many of the websites selling them finally changed from pre-order to in-stock. Some indicate it will ship in 3 days --- some in 2 weeks. ???

Took a chance...and asked while in Best Buy today. They had just a few left at their warehouse according to computer.....so we ordered one. $599

We pick it up at the store this Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

We'll have it in time to take July 4th pics.

I've been waiting MONTHS for this camera!!! I hope its everything I've been waiting for.

P.S. Good sale going on for a Fuji 256MB XD card. Regular 139.99 --- on sale 104.99 --- minus $20 rebate --- only $84.99 for 256MB! (Remember though - you need an Olympus card to use the Panoramic feature on camera if that's important to you.)

SillyOldBear...... glad you like yours. I've heard nothing but GREAT reviews from the entire 700 series.

It was really hard holding out till the 750 came out. So many times I was tempted to just run to the store & buy the 740....but there were certain features the 750 has that DH just wanted to have.

I can't wait to play with that 10x zoom too!

Anyone have any trouble finding a camera bag....since it a slightly odd shape -- compared to our older Olympus D450 which is that clamshell design?

Let me know how you like it. I've been eyeing the 740 but decided to wait for reviews on the 750. I have no knowledge of digital cameras, just been reading reviews.

Can't wait to here how you like it! I didn't know it to panoramic pics too!!! I love those pics!! hmmmm....this might be the one!

Wendy -- they 740 will do panoramic too. I think just about all Olympus do -- our old one does.

You just need to use an Olympus media card for the feature to work. Other mfg's won't allow the feature to work. Olympus's way of making sure you buy theirs.

Well, we picked it up Thurs pm. I can't believe how light the camera is even with the batteries in it. And it's smaller than one would image for such a packed camera.

I haven't had time to read any manuals or even install the manual on CD....but I played around with it a bit at the lake on Friday pm during the HAZY heatwave. Took some nice zoom shots WITHOUT a tripod....and some action shots of DH jetskiing way out in the lake. Never could get shots like that before.

I forgot to say: the pictures look nice and crisp on computer (except for the haze)...don't go by the reduced quality of the uploaded pictures to my link. I actually kinda like how he's in focus, but the background is blurry from the haze. Kinda neat.

And it was nice to not get red eye on the cat with forgetting to turn the red eye feature on. We have a nephew who has red eye in EVERY picture we take. He'll be the real test. LOL

Actually Donna....that's a GOOD question I've been wanting to look up in the manual. I've wondered that myself.

I zoomed the lever all the way...and that's what I got! LOL


I know with our old Olympus, you had to go into the menu settings to get to the digital zoom.....hence, the digital zoom NEVER got used. LOL

I'm going to have to read it eventually I know!!!!!!!!! LOL

I also took 2 movies with it of him jetskiing. Got to figure out how to play those too. LOL That was neat.

We don't really plan on using the digital zoom that much anyways, so that would be nice if you have to go into settings to use it. And if you can get this quality with the 10X-- wow!

I just showed DH and he was impressed as well. We have a few days until ours arrives.
