Olympic Opening Ceremony Uniform USA

Every Olympics there seems to be some who never like the uniforms no matter what they look like. Most likely they pay those designers big $$$ to come up with whatever they end up wearing. Doubt they can please everyone. It is fun to watch the opening ceremonies to see what other countries are wearing.

Eh, I like the Canadian outfits. The American outfits are boring.

They’re fine. Team USA looks classic and preppy, which is what RL is known for. I don’t recall having different outfits for opening and closing ceremonies. Not really necessary when they could wear the same thing and save lots of money. Looks like the only thing worn again is the funky striped belt, and maybe the sneakers.

Apparently the athletes will all wear face masks. Lauren’s design is solid navy blue with a small American flag on one side. While I do like the flag scarves, I think that combined with masks, it’s too much. At least there’s no hats this year.

From what I’ve heard, the ceremonies are being scaled down a lot due to Covid restrictions, and it’s likely that only a small contingent of athletes will participate in the parade of nations.

I spent from 6:00 AM to late afternoon watching Olympiade documentaries from the ‘20s to the ’80s on TCM. Think I’ll wait for the movie
