I bought a big gallon jug of olive oil and have now lost the lid.
Any suggestions? Will it go bad with no lid? I've been trying lids from everything and can't find one that fits.

I also don't know how long it's been off. I pulled it out of the pantry last night and found it "capless"!

I would hate to lose so much expensive olive oil because of something so stupid! It's almost full.
TIA

I would just make a "barn job" lid out of some aluminum foil. It should keep it fresh.

Foil is good or even a sandwich bag with a rubber band around the neck of the bottle. If you're worried about it going bad you could store it in the frig.

I'll make it sound like I know what I am talking about and say, yes, the above are correct. :)

Thanks guys. Guess I'll just leave my plastic wrap on the top of the bottle. I just wasn't sure if this was enough to keep it from going bad. I've never had bad olive oil so not sure how you would know.

Just a crazy thought, but could you not just pour it into another bottle that HAS a lid? :)
