My twin daughters will just be 12 when we go this summer and my husband and I really want an adult evening out. Our sons are taken care of already. I think (and have been told) that my daughters will be embarrassed by being put in a Kids Club as the children there are young.

Has anyone used Kids Night Out or any other in room sitting service with an "older" child? Can you tell me what they do to entertain them (other than my giving them some money to take them to the resort game room). I know they dont allow them to swim while they are there (understandable). I dont want them going into a park. I also hear (for the young ones) that they bring age appropriate activities with them......

Any information would be appreciated....this is the one thing that I cant seem to figure out for our trip and until I do I will not be happy. It has become so frustrating at this point that I am ready to give up on a grown up night out but my husband is so excited about the idea ...

It seems like in one of my guidebooks it lists two or three different agencies for in-room sitters. None of them will bathe children, but at least one had swimming "at sitter's discretion".
Why not phone an agency or two and ask what sort of things they can plan for the girls? That way you can mull over the options and decide what works for you. :)

I would consider sending them to the kids clubs even though they are at the older end of the age grouping. My 11yo and 9yo (who thinks she too is 11!) went to the Neverland club and both enjoyed it. They also went to Simbas at AK at 8 and 10 and that was their 2nd favorite.

Even though they may be amoung the oldest they should find plenty to do that they will enjoy. My ddi's did the arts and crafts, played some video games and did a jigsaw puzzle. Some of the clubs do a trip to the arcade or sundae making and such.

I have not used the in-room sitters because my girls never wanted to stay in the room and prefered going out to the kids clubs.

You didn't mention what your other kids are doing but if its a kids club I personally would try and keep them all together. Perhaps enlist their help in keeping an eye on the younger ones by going to the club?

Have fun
