I am planning a trip with my grandaughter (just the 2 of us) in August before school starts, and am 2 days days away from ADR's. I would like to take her to some places she has not been to, but looking at the menus I am concerned that she will want the children's choices and not like the adult ones. I will be paying out of pocket because we are staying at Beach Club in a villa and will be eating breakfast and maybe some lunches there. Can she order from the children's menu (she is 11). I am thinking LaCellier, Chefs de France, Brown Derby, Rose and Crown. It seems to me if I am paying and not on dining plan I ought to be able to do it. Help please.

I truly wish wdw would offer a "junior menu". Either the kiddie menu is too dumbed down for adventurous Tweens, or the adult menu is too sophisticated for teens with simpler palettes. If they had a menu for 9 to 16 yo with larger portions of the kids meals and a few selections to reflect the adult menu or theme of the restaurant.

Won't happen - then adults with lighter appetites would want to order from it. I completely believe that the kid's menu is as awful as it is just to prevent the same thing.

with the exception of signature restaurants, anyone may order from the child's menu. some will even offer to make an adult portion of the meal.

Thanks so much for the replies. Now I can get on with making those ADR's tomorrow morning!

DD12 and DS10 sometimes order from the kids menu and sometimes from the adult menu - it depends on how hungry they are and what appeals to them on the menu. We've never had a problem with them ordering off the kids menu.
