Hi, all. Quick question, and not sure if anyone will know the answer to it, but thought maybe someone could advise:

My daughter (17) is high functioning autistic (Aspbergers), and will probably turn 18 before we cruise. I know the normal cut off age for the teen club is 17, and I know that she really wants to be able to go there. Does anyone know if there are exceptions allowed for kids who are 18 to use in this situation? She doesn't LOOK 17 (closer to 14, most people think her 15 year old sister is older), but just wondered what the policy was, as we aren't looking to break the rules, just hoping to find out what is allowed?

My understanding is that they are very, very strict about the 18 rule.

With that said, there is "Open House" times she could maybe enjoy. She could go w/ her sister at this time.

There is also a 18*21 club onboard (for the older teens 18-21). They have a planning meeting the first night. It wil be listed on the first page of the Personal Navigator.

Thanks! That's very helpful to know, and I hadn't even seen anything about the older teen club, that would be great for her too. She does very well with others, both of her age group and a few years younger, and I'm sure will enjoy the open house times with her sister, but also would like time apart from each other, I'm sure.

They never, ever make exceptions for an 18 year old. In fact, there have been 17 year olds that turned 18 on the cruise and we're allowed in at the beginning of the cruise and the day they turned 18 were not allowed back in.

Search for Personal Navigators and you should see something about the older teens / young adults. I haven't seen much more than they exist. It is called Club 18*21.

The 18-20 Society (as it is now called) doesn't have it's own space. They have meets posted in the Navigator and schedule activities throughout the cruise. If she's interested in this, it's important she go to the first meet as that's when plans for the rest of the cruise are discussed.

But the PPs are correct. The upper age limit is a hard limit with no exceptions.

I turned 18 on a cruise in 2008 and they let me go to the teen clubs. Best to call Disney directly.

Also keep in mind even if someone looks younger then they are DCL has your birth date and can accesses it if they need to in the clubs for he kids and the bars. In addition Key to the wold cards are marked so they know who is adult over 21 and who isn't
