Is there anywhere to get the hokey old west dress up pictures anymore? We used to get one every year growning up and I love them. Now that I have my family I would love to start that tradition. We got our son's shiloutte in September, but that won't have changed much when we go back in April.

I remember getting them in frontier land, then in exposition hall...where or where have they gone.

I know they are awful and tacky...but I love them.

Thanks

There is a place at MK (in Tomorrow-land) and in MGM where you can have a picture taken and they will digitally dress you as a character or in a costume. I know of no place where you actually dress in western wear for a picture at WDW.

Gosh, that's really to bad. I don't think a digital doctoring job is quite as fun but that's just my opinion. It's too bad that WDW seems to be getting rid of so many of those unique touches of yesteryear.

I think it was an issue of sanitation on different people wearing the same costumes and hats.

 I would assume that they were cleaned regularly. How is that any different than allowing people to try on clothes in retail shops? I think it's more likely that they weren't making enough money and thought they could make more if they went the electronic route.

Do you mean like this?

That was about 25 yrs ago near POTC. I believe that it was taken where restrooms now stand in the back of the store.

Unfortunately, I do not think that they do it anywhere anymore.

They used to do this at PotC as well:

I believe that was around 1985-1987. (That's me on the far right!) I would love to have it done with my family now as well! The dress-up places are definitely gone now. The only things that are left at the places where they digitally enter your face into movies - like at the Tatooine Traders where they can put you in a Star Wars poster.

Ours are the whole family, I need to get a scanner. They are hilarious, especially some of my sisters glasses and hair cuts...way to funny.

UKCatFan Your picture is so cute. I want one for my son, minus the Jack Daniels.

Digital just doesn't replace this kind of photo. I do remember a few times waiting FOREVER to get it taken because the costumes were being used by the family before us. As far as sanitation, I know that I always had my clothes on underneath, but I wasn't wearing the bear sholder things my sister were.

I haven't seen the picture spot at DTD since they moved Guest Relations. But it was similar to the one they have at MGM, where you're inserted into a background of your choice. I think MGM does them as magazine covers, don't they?

I don't know if any of you have a Six Flags nearby but I think most of them still do them. Six Flags New Orleans, before it was washed away, did have an area where you could have one of those pictures. Our family kept delaying it & of course it's too late now.

There is a place on Hwy. 192 in Kissimmee that is called Old Town. It is about a 10 minute drive from World Drive. It is located at mile marker 9. You can't miss it. There is a huge slingshot ride out front.

They do the Old West portraits there. We had our's done 5 years in a row.

There are other shops that sell socks, Christmas items, candles, movie related items, a haunted house, a bar, a couple of places to eat and several small amusement park type rides.

What can I say... I just have the looks :) As for the JD, it was the 70s. As an adult, I can't stand that stuff. Growing up in KY, I am a bourbon man. No TN whiskey for me!
