I thought I would share some old school Universal with everyone. :cool1: Who still remembers when Universal had a giant parking lot?

Kongfromtation

Front Gate & Jaws

I remember - the parking garage does rock though!

I remember that too - used to have a Bates motel keychain from way back when...

I miss King Kong and I miss Back to the Future!!!

Remember waiting FOREVER in line for both of those - most notably 2.5 hrs for Back to the Future (Kongfrontation que was under a tent and terrible!)...thank goodness for that beer vendor in the middle!

me and my husband were just having this convo while we were in universal! lol

we both absolutely LOVED when you would drive up and you were officially at universal when you saw the "globe" (in your car) which is now inside property. booo!

also, when my husband was a child he always stayed at one of the hotels that you could see universal in the distance from the top level.

king kong i miss, and back to the future too!

my parents said they dont miss the long walk over to the hard rock for dinner. the restaurant was far from universal when it was the only park present.

and of course, i miss the Nickelodeon tour and geyser. the last tour i went on we got to see them filming part of allegra's window (which was the same room used for clarissa explains it all)

and of course, ghost busters! that was a pretty cool effects show.

i remember tailgating in the parking lot......

...which would be the HRH lobby now

I've got pix around here somewhere....

I liked the Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies and Kongfrontation more than anything else. I went to the Psycho house and Bates Motel sets in Hollywood so I saw the originals but don't really miss the ones here.

Didn't we already post pix about the old/original attractions here before.....

....they're around somewhere....
