Old Question- 5 in room at AKL

Long story short, Easter Week plans got cancelled on us at the last minute. I am DVC member so I was trying to use point for 3 nights anywhere at WDW. Only thing available was a pool view at AKL so I took it knowing that that room policy is only 4. There will be myself, DW, and 3 kids 12,8,6.

Has anybody told the front desk they have 3 kids in the room or am I better off not saying anything. I do not feel comfortable not telling the front desk but the alternative is not going or staying at Bob's Budget Hotel offsite. :confused3

I know I would get flamed for this question on the DVC board and usually agree with the policy but because of the circumstances we did not have a choice. My kids do not mind and would probably sleep in the car if they were going to WDW.

Any experience or feedback would help.
Thanks.

It's definitely not allowed. You would be taking a big risk... if a CM or mousekeeper notices you've got 3 kids over age 3 in one room you will be moved. It's against fire codes.

you may end up havng to pay the regular room rate for the deluxe, which will cost FAR more than a FL or AP rate. The POR holds 5 and offers decent rates!

also, if you did try to sneak a 5th person into the AKL room, one person will not get a room card and therefore will not be permitted to enter any of the parks offering EMH.

You are asking for advice on how to further blatantly break a rule that is one of the biggest debate topics on this board? Sorry, it's just a bad situation all around. Especially admitting you usually agree with policy, unless it's inconvenient to you.

Sorry you are in a bind with points and all, but I don't know what you are looking for posting here.

eta: I'm not trying to be totally snarky/flaming, I promise. Just kinda put off by the whole thing.

I agree with the others, you are taking a risk--and one of the kids isn't going to have an ID for early entry. Not usre what you were going to do for passes, but anything coded onto a room key is going to present yet another issue.

I'd keep checking back to see if anything opens, even if it's for more points. If you're short points you could always borrow from next use year or rent from another DVC'er.

Thanks for the honest replys. I will try back and see if anything opens up. We are not trying to save a buck, its just that there are NO ROOMS available for Easter Break; DVC, value or premier.
