old pal mickey or new one???

I'm taking my 4 year old twins 12/2 - 12/10. We rented one older version Pal mickey last year and I know that just getting one won't work this time.

So.. if I'm not concerned about price...Is the new Pal Mickey that much better than the older version I can get for $13.99. I don't want to throw away money if its unncessary, but if its that much better I'd rather get the newer one.

Any advise??

I hope this helps....I was told that the old Pal Mickey would automatically update to new information as soon as you entered the park. So I would think the older version would be more worth the money unless you like the look of the new pal mickey better. I have the old version of Pal Mickey and will find out if he updates in May!

The new pal mickey has songs and stuff that the old one does not also he will have information on rides and attractions built since the old mickey came out including expidition everest after it opens..The old pal can not be updated to receive this information. All the information is already built into them. Your old pal will only receive updated show times and thing of that nature. Me, too. I was just running the Pal Mickey idea by Dfi today and he agrees that I need one when we get there. Personally I think he said yes so I will have someone else to "talk disney" with and maybe leave him alone about it for a few minutes.

I have my Pal Mickey from November 2004. I also read/heard that he will update a little bit of information, but not everything.
So, it sounds like getting a new one is the way to go for me next trip.
Now; what does the new one cost ??? And why is he different looking ?? What additional features does he have ?? Any Feedback would be fun for me to read !

The game ended today It was a matching game , after you played it you got a certificate to print out that was for a free pin w/ the purchase of a new Pal Mickey.

I read that Pal Mickey interacts at the resorts as well. Does anyone have the older version that can give me an example of things PM says? I'm most curious about POP but would also like to hear about Polynesian, AKL, and Beach club since we'll be eating at restaurants there.

I dont think he says anything at the resorts.
As far as clothes for him disney is supposed to be coming out with a clothing line that was targeted for this summer but i think they are now planning for sometime around the holidays. Many of the girls on palmickey.net search high and low to find clothes that fit their pals. They buy other plush and strip them of their clothing Micheals and Ac moore craft stores sell some clothing that works for the pals. Some of the girls on there have actually sewn clothes for the pals. If you look on the site under the attire link you'll find some suggestions. Build a bear is great for accessories such as hats,sunglasses,cell phones you get the idea..
