Old Magic Bands

Can someone else use your old Magic Bands? I know they are linked to all your information but can they be reset and reused by someone else? We have friends going and staying off site and they are trying to find magic bands to link tickets too. I have no idea if this will work. We stay on site and have gotten new Magic Bands each trip. Can offsite guest purchase and link to Magic Bands?

Bands assigned to you cannot be removed from your MDX account. so they cannot be assigned to someone else. So they cannot use your band with their tickets, unless their tickets are on your account (assigned to you).

Offsite guests may purchase their own and have them linked to their account. If the tickets are also linked to their account, the bands can read their tickets.

Since they are of no use until they get there and go to parks, they might as well wait and have a wide selection. On Tuesday I was at the Vineland Premium Outlets Disney Character store and they had the grey Haunted Mansion MB for $11.99 (I think I paid $20 for mine). I meant to look around for others as I am sure as Disney keeps bringing out new designs, older ones will find their way to the outlet stores.

Thanks, That is what I thought but wanted to be sure. So where will be the best place to get them once there assuming they have tickets in hand arriving from off site.

You can buy them on disneystore.com, in the resort gift shops, and a ton of stores in the parks. The "Shop Disney Parks" app says the closest locations to the MK gate are Box Office Gifts (next to the Town Square Theater) and the Emporium. You basically can't go anywhere on property without running into a Magic Band display.

Nobody can book fastpasses if they don't have park admission...even if they are linked to your MDX, if they don't already have linked tickets you will not be able to book fastpasses for them. Not clear on whether they will be purchasing their tickets ahead of time or buying them when they arrive.
