Hi
I will be at old key west in feb for a first stay since joigning DVC family
I have a few questions
Do the studios have a DVD player ?
Do the studio at OKW have a balcony ? all of them ? some of them ? if so in wich buildings ?
And last wich building is better or closer to main building ? nad is that building close to where you can take the boat for DD .

And last wich building is better or closer to main building ? nad is that building close to where you can take the boat for DD . you have to ask for near the HH - building 11-14, 23-26 - the only building with elevators 62-64 are pretty close too

remember if you get a building not close - just get on the bus - it will take to the dtd before it leaves to the park or HH.

going back you will have to walk further - you are walking to the first stop (peninsular road)

there is a map.

think you are talking about the boat to DTD - I also called downtown Disney - DD until I got yelled at.

it definitely makes sense to me Downtown (is one word) Disney (is one word)

calling it DTD - makes it be Down Town Disney - which to me isn't right.

The studios have DVD players and balconies. The balcony is small, just two chairs and a small table but they are very nice to have.

Let me apologize in advance for asking this question (1. For thread-jumping and 2. having never stayed at OKW) but I thought I read that the balconies are enormous at OKW. Did I confuse this with SSR or are there some OKW units with small balconies and some with large balconies?

The balconies in the 1BR at OKW are huge, then again, everything about the OKW 1BR is huge. The studios' (balconies) are small.

I'll be there right before you for my first DVC stay, as long as ROFR goes through.

Maybe the best question is where are the Ice machines. We drive down so we alway bring a cooler. One of our big issues is there are two few ice machines. Just about everywhere we have stayed they have been two staircases down and two bus stops away. We do like Key west though.

I am pretty sure the ice machines at OKW are at the bus stops and also near the laundry room at the main pool. There may also be one at the Turtle Pond pool as well.

And yes, as someone else stated, the balconies in the one and two bedrooms are huge. They have a full table with four chairs and ceiling fans, heavenly! The studio balconies are way smaller, with two chairs and just a small table that can hold a couple of soda cans or glasses. I agree, everthing about the one bedrooms at OKW is about size. Lots of space, storage space and a full sized laundry room. It really does feel like a home. One I didn't want to leave to come back to my real life one!

You will only be able to get a building by the main complex (Hospitality House) if you have the Hospitality House category booked. If not you will be elsewhere in the resort but don't worry...you can always walk or hop on a bus and get to the HH area in a flash!

There are certainly more than 2 ice machines at OKW! All the 1,2 and 3 bedroom villas have ice makers in the fridge. For those staying in studios, the public ice machines are at each of the 5 bus stops.

Hi all, just a quick ques along this theme ( I didn't want 2 start a new thread that was so similar to this one!) we are staying at OKW next Sept, and are looking for a quieter more secluded room, perhaps with a view of the golf course or lake. Having looked at the map I would have thought maybe 45 - 56 are the best buildings to ask for - any thoughts or suggestions on this?
