Old Key West Turtle Pond question

Hi everyone.We have a request for Turtle Pond for our April trip. We wanted HH but it wasn't available. I usually don't make more than one request, but am now wondering if I should be more specific? Can someone tell me what the room views are in this area? Are the waterviews canal and/or pond? Thanks

Old Turtle Pond includes Buildings 30 - 44. #31 - 44 all have views of both the golf course and ponds, #30 looks out over a tee/fairway area. For a canal view, you'd need to be in the South Point area - buildings 45, 46, 55, 56. If you'd be happy with a golf/water view, I'd just request the Old Turtle Pond area since there are so few buildings on the canal. You could also include a request for Buildings 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 27, 28, 62, 63 and 63 - which are also pretty close to HH.

For folks who want near HH but aren't able to get that catagory, I would request a few buildings that are near that catagory instead. I like buildings 15, 16, 62, 63, and 64. Anything on Miller's Road is good too and has virtually the same type of views as Turtle Pond. The worst units I've had have been at Turtle Pond, so I never request that, and I prefer the other two quiet pools over that one too. Turtle Pond always seems to be too much noise for us.

I haven't stayed at OKW in awhile but when I did I requested Turtle Pond Road water view. We got great pond views in 37 & 43. What was also good about these buildings is the bus does not go past so it's more quiet.

Turtle Pond is our second favorite area after HH. We just usually ask for a water view and have always gotten great views.

If you just request "close to HH and waterview" you may end up with a waterview in Building 49 if nothing is available "near" HH.

I'd suggest giving a range of Buildings as a request. Depending on your reasons for wanting to be "near" HH, a range of buildings can give the resort a better chance of giving you something close to what you want. They will also try to fill the first thing on your request first - so if the location is more important than which floor or a specific view, I'd place emphasis on location. If you include a range like 15-19,27-29 and 62-64 - the CM making the assignment will have a good idea what you are looking for. I would even suggest also using the waitlist for the "HH" category (if that's what you are really interested in) since no more points would be involved if it comes thru.

Thanks everyone.I just called and changed the request to 15,16 or 62-64,but now I just remembered we need the second door to the hallway so 15-16 wouldn't be good! Ugh

WooHoo! Just MEEKISHLY called MS back and our waitlist JUST came through for HH! I know we'll only have the one door to the bathroom, but with our kids ages HH is the best location. Thanks for your help everyone!
