How is the pool at Old Key West? Pictures make it seem a little dated. Anyone have a review?

I personally LOVED the pool at OKW! It's big, has a decent deep end as well as a large shallow area, and a slide. I'm not sure what makes a pool "dated" but it didn't seem old or anything to me. Here's a picture of the slide I took when we stayed there, in January 2013:

I liked it better than the pools at POP and SSR, where we have also stayed. Next up: Beach Club! :)

Nothing dated about it-our pool at home is designed like the Sandcastle pool-no Mickey slide tho

I guess it depends on what you consider dated. It is a pool like any other pool with it's own theming.

We love the OKW pool. It is nothing spectacular, kind of basic, but very nice. Plenty of room, decent amount of chairs, close to sand area and playground, and great poolside entertainment (music and games).

Depending on what area you stay in, you can hop on over to your local quiet pool. Turtle Pond has a snack and drink bar. you can refill your mug if you have one. My favorite spot is South Point. Me and my family always stay back there. Of course the main pool is always great because of its slide, little pop up fountains, kiddie pool, and exciting environment.

It also has a sauna. Not sure many of the WDW pools have a sauna.

Our kids love the main pool at OKW. There's also a sand play area near the pool, and the poolside activities are awesome (the "Ice Cream Drop" and treasure hunt were highlights of our trip). They've enjoyed the pools at WL and SSR also, but OKW was their favorite.

and the slide is newer then the pool. not sure when it went in but its not original to the pool. it shouldn't seem dated....its newer then plenty of the resort pool slides.

It's our favorite. It's right next door to Community Hall for kids and family activities, and also next door to the Gurgling Suitcase, the best little pool bar at Disney. :drinking1

It's definitely our favorite for summer vacations.
