Old Key West or Wilderness studio?

I already have 9 nights booked at BCV in a 1 bedroom 6/25/12-7/4/12. I was originally going to rent some points to book 1 additional night there, because I'm short a few points....however I'm now strongly considering using the points I have left to book a studio for 2 nights at either Wilderness Lodge or Old Key West (that's what my husband and I narrowed our choices down to). I have the exact number of points needed for Wilderness, I'd have a couple points left over that I could bank if we do Old Key West.
My questions are:
1. Which is a "better" choice... Old Key West or Wilderness Lodge (never stayed at either)..I'm leaning towards Wilderness, but really I'm open to either
2. More importantly...how much of a pain is it to pack up and move from 1 hotel to another?

I am a big OKW fan, but if you have never done VWL (or WL) and it is still available I would go that way.

Packing up is no worse than at the end of the trip. We do a couple of days before and after our Villa (1 or 2 bedroom) main part of our stay in a differnt resort in a studio. We just pack 1 or 2 short stay bags (family of 4) and do not touch the rest. It is actually very nice on the last day to only have 1 or 2 bags to pack. Moving is just getting bell services to pich up your bags, they will deliver them to the new resort. They will also move left food and refrigerate it for you.

We get bored being at 1 resort for too long

We like the studios at VWL better than OKW studios. OKW has a little more sq. ft. but is laid out more like a standard hotel room. VWL has one bed and a pullout couch. This allows for a little more room, esp. if pullout isnt needed.

We love both resorts. VWL is our home so our hearts are there, but we really love the roominess of the 1 beds at OKW. Both are very relaxing resorts.

As for moving, we prefer having smaller room at 1st of trip. And I agree with bookwormde, pack for just those 2 nights in the studio, then wash in the 1 bed if you need those clothes for remaining days.

Jimmy ^ always goes for VWL.

But OKW has two real queen sized beds and VWL only has one real queen bed and the double sleeper sofa.

For the few nights are two real beds worth more than one real bed? I gotta get my sleep.

For a couple, I like the "queen + pull-out" configuration of VWL. For more than two, the extra bed in OKW is probably worth it.

You are so right. Seriously, we have fallen in love with OKW 1 bedrooms and OKW in general. It is our 2nd fave resort:thumbsup2

OKW was the first DVC as you know, New concept, new idea, good first impression on buyers, = the best layout and size of rooms. OKW, vero, and HHI are the roomiest with best layout IMO. Boardwalk comes in close except for the lock off second BR . Having said that, as I grow older I have come to appreciate the lock off in the later evenings and early am. LOL> I have grandkids, nuff said.
I love OKW when my husband and I stay, I can book a room close to the pool and front, or when we are going to do most things off Disney grounds( gasp!) ;)

All great arguments have been made why OKW is more practical if you have more than 2 in the room. That said OKW theming is much more like staying at a condo, while VWL is a much more immersive theme. I loved my stay at OKW, but I'd have to go with VWL. Nothing quite matches the beauty of the grounds and bay lake.

Both are great resorts. Whichever one you don't stay at this time you can stay at during your next visit. A factor that influences us is what will be the focus of our visit. If it's mainly Epcot, HS, and/or DD then I'd be inclined towards OKW. If MK is the focus then I'd go with WL. It's a bit of a ride from OKW to MK.
