We currently have 6 nights booked at SOG for January - 2 rooms for 8 adults. Now I see 2 DVC studio rentals at OKW that would be similar in price (plus no parking fees). Our party includes my husband and myself, 2 college-age sons and 2 adult sons and their girlfriends. Should we switch to OKW?

I’d say yes because the OKW studios are large and roomy and there’s no price difference.

I would, but I'm biased about not wanting to be immersed in the military bubble. I want my vacation to be full on Disney deluxe.

But as PP said, the size plus the amenities would sway me.

The OKW studios will each have two queen beds as well as a kitchenette, so that will likely add to the convenience. Not to mention Disney transportation, which SOG doesn’t have. So I agree with switching.

SOG is a great resort. I've stayed there when it was The Golf Resort, The Disney Inn and Shades of Green.

The rates can't be beat, but, after we have made SOG reservations I stay on the lookout and if I can get a Disney Resort for the same price, or cheaper, I'll always switch to the Disney Resort.

My only advice about OKW is to pay the upcharge reserve a studio near Hospitality House.

The only reason I'd stay at SOG over OKW would be for price considerations. It's not the same as when it was the Disney-owned Golf Resort. It's pretty bare-bones (with a chain hotel vibe), as Disney resorts go, and the transportation isn't nearly as good as the Disney system, which isn't completely convenient either.
