Old Key West Non-smoking???

We have reservations for a 2 bedroom villa at the Old Key West. I didn't think to ask, are all the rooms non-smoking? Do I have to request that? Just thought I better find out. We leave in 21 days. Members of my family are highly allergic to cigarette smoke and would be miserable. Any info is appreciated

I would call ASAP and add that request, including the medical need. There ARE smoking rooms at OKW.

I agree - it wouldn't hurt to call MS and reqquest N/S. However, the vast majority of the OKW units are N/S and I'm quite sure that the "default" is N/S if you make no request. When you call, see if there is already a N/S request on your reservation (just for fun) before you ask.

You will love OKW. Make sure you request a non-smoking building. There was a post some time ago on the DVC board that had defined which buildings were smoking vs non-smoking. You might want to search for that.

At that time, the smoking buildings were: 12,19,21,25,41 and 50. I think they may have converted a couple of those to non-smoking.

They usually ask smoking or non-smoking when you make a reservation.

We stayed in an OKW 2 bedroom in early December last year and requested, requested, requested and requested some more a non-smoking room for medical reasons as my son has asthma. I called, I faxed, I put it on my reservation, etc. Upon arrival, low and behold, we were put in a smoking room because that's "all they had available". We went to see it and couldn't even walk in because it smelled so bad. They offered to spray it, which we all know won't help. To make a long story short, we had to wait from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (apparently they clean rooms at 10:00 at night) to finally get a non-smoking 1 bedroom and then had to move the next day to finally get into what we requested, a 2 bedroom non-smoking room. Once we got to the new place everything was wonderful. You will really love it.
