Old Key West in december

We are buying a resale but the transaction is not completed yet. I wonder if there is room available at Old Key West in early december...

I read some posts here and it seems that this time of the year is VERY popular!!!! (and I understand why )

Do you know if some rooms are available (one bedroom)?

Early Dec is a busy time for DVC members to go to WDW so the DVC resorts book up pretty quickly. Out of all the resorts your best chance of getting in late would be OKW because it has more villas and also at the holiday times there are alot of things happening in the parks like Candlelight Processional, Mickeys Christmas Party, etc and many people like to stay at the DVC resorts that are near the parks. You can't make reservations until after you have closed so at this point there is not a lot you can do. Maybe you might want to make cash reservations at one of the WDW resorts and then if you can get rooms at a DVC resort you can cancel the cash reservations if not you still have a place to stay and you can bank your pts for a trip later.

I just made ressies today for a 1 br. at OKW 12/9-12/14. There were no studios available at that time at OKW. I wasn't sure we would even be able to get in then.

Wow, with OKW being sich a lackluster resort, I am shocked it is any where near full.

We booked 2 two bedrooms at OKW for Dec 9th-15th no problem... didnt ask about other options.....

As posted, the studios and GVs are the first to fill, but I would try for either a 1 or 2 bedroom. We have been able to get one on fairly short notice when we needed to add days.

Two years ago we were able to get a 2 bdr for the first 10 days in Dec when making ressies in May. It was actually our first visit and it was our only option, even though we would have preferred BWV, at that time. I've said this before but it was an incredible treat and actually spoiled us when we opened that door and saw the size of the place. We'll take OKW any time when we can't get into our home resorts BWV or BCV.

Well it is not any where near full as of 9:30 AM this morning, I called first thing and the ONLY resort for anytime during the first two weeks of Dec or the last two weeks of Nov was OKW. There were studios, 1 BR, & 2 BR all open for this time period. I wanted BWV or BCV or WLV and nothing was available at any of them other than a single day here or there. So now I am on several wait lists. if they do not come through we will just go another time.

What happened to all those people that were supposed to change their reservations from the horrid, horrid place BWV to the double your money, double your fun OKW???????

A couple of weeks ago I got a studio for Dec. 9-11, and that was after waiting around to call because I needed to borrow points and had to wait for my BCV contract to close. Couldn't get the 8th though.
