Any advice on which buildings/rooms to request at these resorts? We have never stayed at either and are considering both. We would be looking to stay in 2bdr/non-smoking. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

For the BWV's I would ask for a room close to the elevators. We stayed at the end on the top floor once and the walk is pretty long. The kids were tired before we got out of the resort.

Your countdown looks like you are traveling in December? If so, best choose quickly! There is already limited availability throughout December.

Thanks for the info. We have a 2bdr at our home(SSR) already booked but we want to try some others if we can. I know it may be tough to book at the 7 month window but we will try!

At BWV, are you going for a standard or perferred view? If you are getting a standard view I would suggest a villa down near the tennis courts. It is about a 3-4 minute walk from the elevator but it is very quiet there, you have a nice view of the canal to MGM, TOT, Fantasmic fireworks and the Friendship boats. These villas also have a shorter walk to MGM if you take the back stairs.
If you have a preferred view I would pick the boardwalk view villas, if you can get it. The views from these villas is incredible. If you can not get a boardwalk view I would go for the village green view and my next choice would be quiet pool view.

Thanks for info. It will come in handy! Anyone have any info on OKW?

At OKW, we like the Southpoint area or the Turtle Pond area.

At the BWV, we stayed in a 2BR NS room overlooking the canal and the croquet lawn. It was a nice room with a lovely view.

Honestly, I haven't found a bad area at OKW yet. Even the buildings I expected to be bad ended up being wonderful! I would probably request upper floor and near bus stop if you MUST request something more than non-smoking. I usually request non-smoking only, and I have yet to be disappointed.

At OKW, we always request top floor since you can really notice the noise from above. And as far as the elevators at BWV, are you traveling with little feet (young children)? If not, you may want to request far from the elevators. I find it quieter and I figure all the walking makes me feel less guilty about all the eating I do!

I have to admit my first time staying at BWV I would pass through the lobby for every where I was going . I have no idea why I wasted all that walking.

Just remember if your far from the elevator down by the tennis courts, use the stairs and just cross the street to get to the buses or a shorter walk to MGM.

:)

At OKW, we like the Southpoint area.

At BWV, we stayed in a room overlooking the waterway to MGM. The Swan and Dolphin were across the way, with a view of the ToT in the distance...very nice.

We like Turtle Pond building 44 best. In fact we've gotten it so many times now it truly feels like we are "home" in 4411 LOL

We just switched to OKW but are waitlisting for BWV. Thanks everyone for the help! If anyone has any other info about these resorts they want to share that would be great. :thumbsup2

Both times at OKW we have requested N/S for medical reasons and near the HH. Both times we have stayed in Bldg. 23 and really enjoyed it. We were close enough that we could sit on the balcony and watch the kids walk over to pick up a board game and return.

Very nice!

at OKW you can request views - water, golf or woods (there is some places with no view - it can have a small garden)

you can also request to be near the bus stop, pool (4), or HH. most people want to be near HH because that is where the action is taking place. I don't like it - because that is where the action is taking place....

I love water views in building 18 (miller road) and building 55 (south pointe)

don't like building 20, 21, 51, 52 - the bus turns in these places...

I got a parking lot view in building 48 - so it is off my list too....

OKW generally has some of the best views!!!! - their water views are pretty wonderful.... I don't like golf - but some of my friends are golfers and they claim that the golf views are the best...

if you have a studio try not to get a first floor.... you can get a handicapped room - or your view will be of shurbs and overgrown bushes - or you can get the air condition units....

----------------------------

bwv - you will probably get a view of that silly clown the main pool view. it is the most preferred view that BWV has. I won't count on a standard view - hey try for one....you might get lucky.
