Old Hoppers - what would you do?

I finally found out how many days I have on my old hoppers and now I dont know what to do!

My DH and I went to WDW in 1996 and we bought Hoppers - and we couldn't remember how many days are left...so we sent them along with friends who went to WDW in July and found out that we each had 2 days left on the tickets and it included hopping.

My husband did use his ticket to go to Typhoon Lagoon - so does that make it an Ultimate Hopper?

We will be going to the parks for 3 days in Sept and want to park hop - so we know we want the hopper option....we will be taking our DS's to A water park, but cant see us going to Disney Quest or Pleasure Island....I don't really want to buy the non expiring ticket - but I think - if that is what I had before - that is what I have to add to the ticket...please correct me if I'm wrong.

So we need 1 more day....and a water park option -

OK DIS'ers WHAT IS OUR BEST OPTION????

Also - we leave in 33 days - should we buy the tickets in advance from an outlet or can we buy them once in FL (we will be in Daytona Beach the day before we arrive in WDW)

1. Buy ten day non-expiring tickets with hopping (about $367. without plusses, about $415. with five plusses) and plan for yet another vacation.

2. For your upcoming 3 day vacation, there is no problem using up your old tickets as-is and buying a new one day ticket. Is there one of the three days you won't need to hop? If so, buy and use the new one day ticket without hopping for that day and use the old tickets for the other two days. Note that one day tickets cost $64. without hopping and $101. with. You can recheck the old tickets after you get down there for a second opinion to find out how many plusses remain. If no plusses remain, buy a separate water park admission also (about $36. each).

Since your friends reported back that your tickets still have days, the tickets are not Ultimate Hoppers (Ultimate Hoppers expired at the end of the day you checked out of your Disney resort and are no longer being sold). Back then the other kinds of hoppers were plain hoppers (without waterpark admissions) and Hopper Plus passes.

There were actually three types of tickets offered for general sale in 1996: the value pass, the park hopper, and the world hopper. Exactly what does your ticket say on the back of it for a description?

If it is a value pass, you were allowed a single admission each to MK, EC, and MGM. The fourth admission was to the park of your choice. No park hopping allowed.

If it is a park hopper, it worked tha same way that PH's today do.

If it is a world hopper, you have a park hopping ticket that allowed entry into the minor parks of the time (water parks and PI along with the now closed River Country and Discovery Island) for 7 consecutive days from first use of the ticket. After the 7th day, the admissions to the minor parks expired but your unused theme park admissions remained valid.

seashoreCM's option #2 would be the cheapest way for you but if you plan on going again in the future, you would do better in the long run applying the dollar value remaining on those old tickets towards a longer (between 5 and 10 day) MYW PH ticket with no expiration.

thanks for the advice----seashoreCM's #2 option is what we were thinking about - but we weren't sure paying for one day was the best deal....
