Old hand but new questions on Candlelight Processional & Online

Hi Folks,

Taking my 5th trip to WDW, but first time just the 2 kids and me.

We're doing quick dining plan for the first time which excites me, because the reservations and then making them was a pain in the..knee.

So first question;
1) I have a candle light dining package booked, but must pay OOP. We are going on Dec 15, a few days before Christmas break. If we just take our chances, would you think we could walk in to the show?

2) New online system and fast passes--> does my teenage daughter need to create an account so I can link all of us?

Yes but I would get in stand by line at least 1 hour before depending on what time you want to see 1st, 2nd, or 3rd show.
