Old fashion candy apple recipe

Anyone have a recipe for candy apples that uses the cinnamon candies (red hots)? This is the type recipe my mom used but I can't find it anywhere. I've found some similar things that add cinnamon flavor but am really looking for a recipe using the red hots.

Sorry can't help with that...

but I was jsut remembering the "Grounded for Life" episode when they had "candy" left over from making the apples.

And Jimmy made Candied Chicken Wings!
